And suppose someone gave you 1.com ... you would never steal the domain for your own profit?... -_-;

I have never used his service and only met him once at a trade show.
So, I don't know anything more than what has been mentioned.

There is a contract spelling out the rules and conditions.

And, I'm positive he would not want to do anything unethical since
that is an important part of the transaction.
Trust between the domain owner and DigiPawn.

A Pawn Shop is a Pawn Shop, don't expect anything other than a very high
rip off interest rate and/or an attempt by them to get their hands on your best
domains for nothing. Amazing what the recession brings out. Oh yeh, dont tell
me Rick Latona is a great guy and does it for love, lol.

DG

True DG from what the samples i have seen, you will get just 10% value of your domain and i'm talking one word generics here not just crap.......:sigh2:

You want to be a multi millionaire fast follow his blueprint, loan 10% on generic domains and hope the domainer becomes ill, dies or simply forgets to renew,do this a few times and you wont never have to work again........Rick is a great guy and i really believe he does this for love.........

This guy is a genius........BLUEPRINT

You must have me confused with someone that is new here.

DigiPawn was the first company ever to finance domains. We were around years before our competitor.

I myself have a huge portfolio and I'm a major player. Let's not get confused.

We've loaned out many millions of dollars and done many large transactions on extremely valuable domains. There has been no bad press. We have had no complaints. We have never and would never even consider something like what you are suggesting.

Here are just some of my brands in the domain space.

www.ricklatona.com
www.aeiou.com
www.cctlds.com

Hell no, I would never do something like that. It's insulting to even need to answer such a question.

Rick's a true domain entrepreneur. I have not used Digipawn but his status in the domain industry is that of a well-respected domainer. Obviously, some people get jealous of other people's success; a few weeks ago Rick's aeiou minisite service was unfairly attacked by that colorful character whose name I am not going to mention ;) and he's currently banned.

I recently entered into a deal with Rick and digipawn...he and his crew have been great to deal with...the contract is what I expected and has a fair grace period for the payments.

nothing but a good review so far.

side note: the down payment and rate were very fair.

nice to see someone trying this type of deal, we played with the idea in 2003 or so, but a pawnshop is probably better suited to it

seems they have a real narrow range of domains they will touch though, which is their right, but we offered them a major industry keyword in a billion dollar industry that is already on page one for 18M+ serps and that has a ton of major companies paying huge PPC fees on it

their response...

not interested...

I'm sure they probably have their own way to deal with what they will invest in, but a keyword on page one of 18M+ serps in a billion dollar industry with corporate PPC buyers lined up... and to say not interest...

hmmm

when we tested the idea with a natural keyword for the industry, we got a bunch of garbage from people, nothing close to an industry 'keyword', granted my keyword is a 'combo' but that is the industry

it's not 'air travel' .com but you know what I mean, some keywords have to be combos to describe the industry

so maybe they would say invest in air or travel .com and not air travel .com

like wise, my offer was a major industry keyword and it's on page one in serps for 18M+ pages and there's pages of PPC buyers for the phrase

and 'no interest'

sure they can say your ask price for the loan is too much, or we can only give X not Y

but NO INTEREST when it's page one for a keyword in a billion dollar industry with major ppc action???

maybe they're short today on cash, maybe they don't do combos, only single words

but NO INTEREST

I was leary of giving personal info, until I saw the owner is a member here, so, I did give personal info, had I not seen them on this forum I would have passed

to have to give all that info to get PASS

hmmm

but, they have every right to loan on whatever they want

It's a great idea though, and you do need to be tight in what you loan on I guess
