For a second I thought I was at NamePros.com. I had to check my URL twice.
Such lowballing needs to stop. In fact, I have started reporting the usual suspects who openly lowball at selling threads, e.g. $200 for a LLL .net or $4k for a LLL .com
These guys don't belong here.

Careful Theo, an opinion in this thread is likely to get you slapped on the cheek with a limp trout. :D

Get over yourself Theo. Some people here like to get offers however 'lowball' they are.

Salient, Tom has done nothing wrong, i dont know why you are making such a big deal out of it, seems like you have been offended or insulted.

How much do you want for the name anyway?

You may want to read my posts. I was offended, has nothing to do with right or wrong.

Not for sale, thank you.

Stuart.

Sweet, I have a can full of vintage pocket lint from 1973. PM sent. :D

I'll trade you a piece of string for that, attached to toothpicks (see thread about keeping eyelids open).

Toss in a cracked marble and an empty tube of tooth paste, and you have yourself a deal. :D

Man, you're a tough negotiator....or do you just enjoy receiving offers? :D

I use worthless time wasting offers to try out my 1920's British slang.

Oh for goodness sake, old chap...I'll throw in a couple of quid and the lady's knickers for this splendid offer. Ta-ta for now.

LOL. Acro, you do the English-speke and I'll do the finer corrections.

Ergo:

Goodness'
Ta-ta

Seraphim has no idea of British slang of the 1920s >

But we'll teach him...

:D

I didn't get a chance to read this entire thread, sorry, just the first two pages but here is my experience.

The opposite approach works well too (at least for me, when I was buying domains). Start high, say the name is worth $25,000, offer $45,000 and negotiate down from there. A high offer gets the sellers attention, and at the end of the day, EVERYTHING is negotiable, especially domains since their values are very subjective.

I've started negotiations at $20k+ and bought the names for $4k-10k, then flipped them for mid five figures.

Of course, it's harder to negotiate with domainers, and hard with great domains like wifi.com, but this is where filtering known domainers e-mails comes in. I NEVER buy domains from domainers, simply because it's hard to negotiate with them, especially on quaility domains, since they become very attached to them. That's what end users are for.

Honestly, I can't blame this guy for trying to "steal" these names for those prices. Cut throat business we're in. Compared to some of the shady crap that goes on in this industry, this guy is still a saint.

Good luck to both, amazing domain BTW!

I missed an apostrophe, big deal.

Back on the subject of low-balling...I am amazed it comes from the mighty British pound holders. The Queen's face is worth 2x Washingtons! That's 50 quid there mate, for wifi.com!

If you purport to write in Brit English, please make it accurate. That's all I suggest for you high-flyers. You have aZooZa here to pick you up :D

The Queen's face on a banknote seems to be more convincing these days. So the markets say. Or did I go wrong and miss the vitality of the USD?
