I was just checking prospective deleting domains against snapnames and I wondered why I did it.

It appears in the last few days, someone has added a snapback to a name that I have on my 'interesting' list.

Should I re-class this domain from 'interesting' to 'must have' because someone else has spent money on a snapback. Would you? Have you?

;)

depends on you.

Answer this question :
do you really want that name ?

And you'll find out your answer.

NO!!

I'm starting to take snapbacks on names that are only worth the reg fee just because people go crazy and bidding on any name just because it's pending delete and somehow more valuable. I've had people go crazy bidding on a name at nw (and sometimes win it) simple due to the that fact I had put a snap on it (might have otherwise dropped). So it's like a situation where if you dont put a snap on it somone else will and that thought sometimes make me go ahead and pay money for a snap. When someone is doing a protective action it makes it more valuable to that person not necessarily to you.

I think that the rising bids at NW are a reflection of the rising market, which is on the rebound. Also I believe more and more people are putting snaps on less valuable names, just because their snaps are expiring. If I have 20 snaps and they each only have one month left, then it makes since to at least get a name with the snaps, with the chance that I might be able to resell the domain, rather than just letting the snap expire. Just my opinion, but I think this is starting to happen more frequently now.

I would agree with this also. B/c when you're on attempt #4 you want to at least get something out of it.

The thing is that you can have the snap on a name and someone is bidding on namewinner is might be to your benefit not to bid against them there because they are sucking at $8.75 bids big time. I missed one today that didn't have a snap on it. So the more you bid the name up against another person the more of a chance they will have of getting it there. If there is more than one other person interested it should go to $25 or higher and you know the games on.

Just some thoughts.

You can try to sell your Snaps.

I'm looking to buy. I'm starting a new thread about it now.
