Does anyone believe there are any high end domains in the drops these days?

Sorry, not going to happen.

I do have a drop picked up about one year ago on the present sales list of DNJournal.
DOC Me too almost forgot in the top 20 also  I have held a few years though.

Another drop pick up from less than a year ago has sold on Afternic.

Now, to see if the buyer actually pays.

---------- Post added at 02:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:40 PM ----------

Got notice that buyer has sent payment to escrow.

Cool!

IMHO, the drop lists do contain 1-2 solid domains every day.

High End names drop all the time. Snap, Pool and NameJet have built solid businesses on that fact. There are also plenty of mid $XXX names that are available for hand reg just about every day. Got to be vigilant, creative, and committed.

In terms of services, if you are interested in low cost, hand-regs, there are a few decent providers out there. Disclosure: Our site, FreshAvails.com, provides hundreds of sorted name options a week for free, and thousand+ names via the email program as well. For PreRelease or Post Drop Auctions, NameJet and Snap do pick up most of the gems and their auction platform is easy to sort through...at a significantly higher cost of course.

Nice list, there are a couple that I like. I have twenty categories that I filter and search, even automating as much as possible, I spend a couple of hours every morning going over my list. Just signup and sent payment via paypal. I like the model you have set up and the way you extent trust, I hope it works out for you!

Thanks,

SMac

I always wonder the same thing when I see Doc Com often brag about his sales and bank account.

How much do have in your bank account,

You don't have to say the exact amount, but give us some idea so we know what we are dealing with here. :)

Young man, its called integrity. If I sign an NDA, I stick to the letter of the law. I do not want to be sued for breech of contract. I recently entered into a 5 year NDA.

As for sales, well...look back a few issues of DNJournal where I did disclose a sale.

As for my bank account, well...who's business is that anyways.

Dig a little deeper, Mr. Green.

I like your model. Thought I'll give it a shot. Paid via Paypal.

Lets see how it goes. :)

We really don't care about your bank account balance but the point is it's getting a bit weary hearing you talk about how great and successful you are in so many posts and all the money you have in your bank account.

Well, there may be a post or two in the future regarding this very subject.

If you want, you can put me on ignore.

But you...you're too funny to ignore. I like your posts. They crack me up.

Thank you. Yes, a few...even AFTER the mobi charge.

Keywords are keywords are keywords.

Yes, perhaps a couple were reported to DNjournal as there was NO NDA involved.

BTW, I love the keyword in your siggy.

There are great names on the drops everyday if you take the .com blinkers off...

Names that have dropped in the LAST 7 DAYS in Australia

Europe.com.au
BuildingInspections.com.au
PrePaidBroadband.com.au
NFL.com.au
OUT.com.au
EcoTours.com.au
32.com.au
GreatDeals.com.au

Note I have picked at least one domain from each day to show how every day has a few great domains.

Names that have dropped in the LAST 7 DAYS in NZ

Magazine.co.nz
Gardening.co.nz
Yacht.co.nz
Ted.co.nz
InstantLoans.co.nz
Rick.co.nz
Hacks.co.nz
Minisites.co.nz

Anybody know about drop catching in other ccTLDs? .UK seems pretty void of quality from what I can see but what about .de, .ca etc?

I heard there're contracts that allow some companies to go through a registrar's drop list
and pick the expired domains they want. Then the rest goes to the marketplace for domainers to
backorder and bid.

Not necessarily - overseas entities are able to register .au domains after jumping through a couple of hoops.

The easiest way is to register a trademark in Australia (can be any TM whatsoever) and then you can use that TM Number as the eligibilty ID for ANY future domain registrations - the names don't have to relate to the TM so with one TM, you can register 10,000 domains if you want.

AU domains are cheaper than most overseas people think too - you can pay A$20 for 2 years which equates to US$9.30 per year.

Oh and .nz is completely open to anyone anywhere (over 18 years old ;) )

Feel free to PM me for more details.
