As Posted in other forum,

It might be a good idea to establish a domain owners Association with strong financial and legal resources in order to challenge some of the unfair practices and tactics that are conspired against domainers in order to liberate their valuable domains from them. A domainers Association could also protect domainers from frivolous UDRPs and reverse hijacking and help to recover their domains. Perhaps an Association could bring some order and clarity by introducing a standard guideline for the industry and by educating all who are involved with domains in a more systematic way. It might also be able to provide members with additional services such as legal advice, domain registration and insurance, discounts on hotel and airfare or group health and life insurance. In order for this idea to work the Association must be neutral and must surpass any boundaries or negative competition between major forums by having trustworthy officers from all forums and the support of all domainers.

Hi,

Such an Organization has already started.

Excerpt from DNJournal.com:

"...a new non-profit organization devoted to protecting the rights of domain owners, the Internet Commerce Association, made it’s debut. Previous efforts to organize domain owners haven’t made much headway, even though registrant’s rights and assets are increasingly coming under attack from parties that want to take away what you have. The ICA looks like they could change that. The five founding members of the organization represent some of the industry’s strongest companies, iREIT, Oversee.net, Sedo.com, Name Administration and the World Association of Domain Name Developers (the company that produces the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conferences). Each of those entities has made a substantial financial commitment to the ICA and a legal counsel and Washington, D.C. lobbyist, Philip Corwin, has already been hired."

The DNOA database and system are currently undergoing maintenance.

No discrimination going on, AFAIK.

This is correct. I just received a PM from RJ informing me that

"The database is offline while I'm working on moving it to its own hosting account".

So it would seem that the reason DNOA are not accepting members is just a temporary technical issue.

Hope this clarifies everything for people.

I believe this is more in line with what Oldtimer was talking about.
Not a club so to speak but an organization which has some juice and can afford to hire lobbyists etc.

If someone wants to give a go at a Domainer's Organization, I'll let DomainerGuild.com and DomainersGuild.com go for $199 or Best offer. (sold together)

Umm you might want to move that to the domains for sale section.
