n how is enom reseller better than godaddy's?

It's a preference of use of the domainers (clients). The comparisons of the two resellers have been discussed in this forum for many times.

In my humble opinion, I do business to both of them as reseller and as client to assist my customers. If my customers prefer to use GoDaddy or Enom, we provide the business as needed.

I prefer to use Enom reseller to manage our customer domain name, as reseller you can help your customers to manage their DNS, changing A records, CNAME, etc. The private label is easy to setup for example, www.needname.com. Ofcourse Godaddy has their own reseller for ex. www.Moscom.com though not fully private label, check the actual URL address. You can work around this private label for godaddy, having your own website and use link to redirect to your registration page.

Pricing and products closely the same. I personally like the SSL package in Enom compare to GoDaddy.

Pushing names within enom network is super easy, just give the account id and you're done. Godaddy push is easy with additional tasks, you need to provide the email address and your account ID. The current owner need to push the domain, then recipient will process pending transfer. Doing it for 1 domain transfer, doesn't make any difference but try 10 or more domain transfers.

The registration is straight forward using Enom private label as compare to Godaddy. Some customers prefer easy and painless registration. Though godaddy private label registration will give you the opportunity to sell other products/services.

I used the comparison betweeen www.needname.com (Enom Technology Partner) and www.moscom.com (super reseller)

Not enough information to share in a single post, but I'm sure when you do search in this forum you will get more information.

cheers,

Since this thread deals with reseller comparision, can someone tell me whether a domain push is possible from 1 reseller to another reseller under resellerclub.com . Also if possible what are the time limits. Does the 60 day rule apply then (since both are under resellerclub) .

Thanks

The issue I have with any reseller is this;

WHY?

Years ago it seemed to be worth it from the discount I could give myself.

Domains prices are so cheap right now that it is not worth even having a reseller account.

It is hard to even match what GD and Moniker's regular prices are.

Hosting and a few other add-ons are cheap but other than that, I see very little benefit from plunking down an yearly fee.

I agree with you Doc but if you would like to extend your business by having your own private label domain name registration is a good thing especially PPC , buy and sell of domains aftermarket is not on our side. Retail customer still prefer a personal assistance when managing their domain names.

I joined with eNom @ the $10.95 rate with the option to get lower rate for discounted prices at any time. Since then, I have integrated my site with an API so everything is handled on my site. I am very happy with eNom and the addition API management and interface software which I purchased.

How much of a chore is it to integrate the api? Can you easily customize to match your site graphics? Every GD reseller site I see is a clone.

Easy is depending if you know how to program or you have a programmer. Here's the API information.
http://www.enom.com/resellers/overview_api.asp

I want simple private label and concentrate on supporting customers, so I prefer private label which cost me $99 per year. You can customize the look and feel, extend with simple html knowledge.

Hope this help.

100% customizable. Clients can even change their own name servers and push to other accounts located on my site. They have no clue eNom is even involved.

I have used GD reseller in the past, and honestly this is worth 10x that. I will NEVER pay for a WWD reseller again and once you have the API thru enom... paying a year fee that isnt even HOSTED on your server NOR is customizable seems like a sham!

I'm interested in becoming a reseller to expand my domain sales business, and I saw OpenSRS that looks nice, but I've heard bad thing about customer support. Any comments?
Thanks!

I used Tucows service in the past, doing my own programming to offer registration services. Where Enom provides out of the box registration services website. This is my primarily goal to use Enom, it is ready for you.

If the outsource service is excellent, I will use it instead of doing the development of my own. I am using the private label service since 2001 and very happy. They also offer API just like the OpenSRS if you want to expand your website.

The technology is going cloud computing, software as a service (SaaS) or other Computing as a service (CaaS), this is the trend. This will help you minimize your operating cost.

IMHO

In my experience the Godaddy reseller system is just perfect when it comes to FREE telephone client support and automated newletters emailed out to our clients monthly.
A simple newsletter can cost $100 to produce properly. Yes the whole non transfer through WILDWEST is sort of a pain, but for Under $200 you can have an automated business running tomorrow. We carry 1000+ domains at any given time, for us the single fact of saving over $2000 a year on the carry cost is well worth a $200 fee. API was a little bit of a pain, but our designer got through it when replacing the reseller site frontpage site skin. Networks Domain (dot) com >>>>> We're happy, and we also see Adam has implemented GD reseller on DNForum. Good luck with your decision!
