I would not say a free fall at all, but people are dropping their crap domains and selling some gems at low prices. It is the time to buy....as a matter of fact...that extended auction tomorrow ends and there are lots of nice generic domains there. I actually feel bad for some of the people submitting real nice names at little or no reserve. I think lots will go cheap.

Rap.org for $5,900 !?!?!?! that's dirt cheap for a great name. I could easily see that name going for $30,000+ just a few years ago.

Hamburgers.net for $5,715 !?!?!?! OMG that name would have gone for $30,000+ just a couple of years ago.

IMO, those 2 names as products or services are not 30k names now or earlier.

However, rap.org could be a 5 to 20k name to an enduser company with those initials.

Hey.
I'm from canada.
P.S. LLL.com and LLLL.com are easy to memorize. I would love to have a 3 or 4 letter name thats pronoucable also.
Ex: (one I wanted to buy) alby.com. People can remember that instead of pleasesearchthissite.com you could have a simple and friendly name alby.com

Hey...no need to hate.

We all got bargains today in the Moniker auction. That is the place to buy....Frankly - if you sell there - THANK YOU! Keep up the good work.

Never been at a moniker auction. Is there any agreement and also do you pay via paypal to the seller?
If so I'm going to join the next one :).

I'm Talking about the Moniker extended auction. Basically - if your name goes there - it is a sitting duck to get picked off at your reserve.

I will never submit my names there - ever again - because it it a suckers market....your name will sell at what reserve price you set.....and moniker trys to set all your reserves.

Too tired to flame you.
I'll flame you when I get back from school.
Mhmmm and btw 3 and 4 letter domains are actually good. Its easy to remember. Its brandable. (4 letters). as for 3 letters its short, tons of acroynms. Companies buy them sometimes like :

New York Wood

Would probably like to buy nyw.com cause its short like that.

Mhmm?
Fail more.

Just wondering if this "Trolling forums - insulting members" marketing works or not.

My pleasure!

I had 3 names in - 1 sold for $480 that I bought for $5 last November.

The prices of domain names are definitely on the rise again.

Let's use LLL.coms as an example; in Feb/March/April you could find LLL.com's at the $3k mark and below, you could even see some LLL.coms sell for $2,xxx ! Now the minimum prices seem to pick up towards $4k again and you will have to work your hat off if you're planning to pick up LLL.coms at low $3,xxx anymore.

Long-term I see no reason why .COM domains shouldn't keep increasing in value. The only reason we've seen such a drop in the last few months is because that the global recession has finally caught up with the domain name market.

I believe domainers are more confident, with more guts (and bigger balls) than other investors and therefore the domain market is the last to crash and the first to recover after such a recession.

yea, so just because a dozen or so lll or llll domains sell for a few thousand bucks, for what is considered a decent price, according to whatever valuations used.... within the last few month's that means that everything is ok and those with this type of domains are set lovely...

it's too bad you don't hear about all the tens of millions of domains that didn't sell :lol::lol:

get real ! :asleep:

From DNJournal

I spoke at lunch and for the first time released domain sales data for the first quarter of 2009. Total reported sales jumped 32% from the fourth quarter of 2008 (from $21.5 million to $28.3 million). I'll have an extensive breakdown of those numbers in our next free monthly newsletter that well be emailed to opt-in subscribers soon after a return to our home office in Florida this weekend.
