First-Time Speaker: Nigel Roberts , Founder of Island Networks®

We’re proud to welcome Nigel Roberts, founder of Island Networks®, as a first-time speaker at Domain Summit Europe 2025.

Founded in 1996, Island Networks® operates the top-level domains .GG (Guernsey) and .JE (Jersey), and provides domain name services to registrants, registrars, registries, and clients around the globe. They also deliver technical registry services for the .AS TLD (American Samoa) and offer consultancy to other domain managers worldwide.

Nigel holds a degree in Computing Science from Essex University, is a Chartered Engineer, and a Fellow of the BCS (British Computer Society). In 2008, he also earned a Qualifying Law Degree (LL.B).

He ran for the UK House of Commons in the 1997 General Election, and when the voters of Ipswich chose otherwise, he moved to the Channel Island of Alderney, where he served in the States (Island Parliament) from 2002 to 2003.

Outside of the domain world, Nigel is passionate about cryptocurrencies and analog electronic music.

Freddy led brands like Luxhosting, Hosting.co.uk, and MonsterHost under Zonat Sàrl, where he served as CEO. In December 2023, this hosting portfolio was acquired by World Host Group, with the acquisition officially announced on January 2, 2024.

In August 2024, Freddy joined Namespace Holding S.A. as Manager of Business Development, where his focus is now on Hosting.de, one of the group’s leading platforms.

A former director of Nominet, the .uk registry, he shaped domain governance, and as Company Secretary at OpenUK, he keeps corporate standards razor-sharp with a sprightly edge. Beyond law, Jim’s refereed rugby (after teammates played at high levels), ran an entertainment gig as a student, and still loves intimate live band and comedy nights - proud dad to three kids to boot.
