Do you want to be called as a 'Domainer' or a 'Domain Owner'?

Recently I heard this word 'Domain Owner' (thanks to the person who coined it!) in the context of a 'domainer', and I really liked it..

just curious to see what others think..

thanks,

I prefer domainer because a domain owner could just own one domain and not know a thing about domains whereas a domainer should know a thing or two about domains.

"Internet intellectual property entrepreneur".
"Web realtor (estate agent)".
"Domain broker".
"Website dealer".

Or for short and ease of communication: "Squatter".

Hi all,

For me a domainer is:

domain expert
domain investor
domain broker
domain owner

...

A nice term that I will sumarrize by:

People that make (or try to make) revenue with domain names.

I think for the moment it's really an industry term, ask to the dummy what is a domainer and he will respond you if you have drunk ... LOL

I prefer to use domainer because domain owner is only one part of the meaning, and when the domain owner just have few domains I am not sure domainer is the more appropriate term.

...

We are all PHDs

(Perennial Hunters of Domains!)

But until that apt designation is officially bestowed upon us all, the next best descriptive is domainer!

A domainer does way more than just own domains.
They park them , sell them, and even devolep them.

Just because own a domain name, does not mean you are a domainer. It just means you are a domain owner.

It's long but....

"Domain name investor" or "Domain speculator" works best for me.

"Professional registrant" isn't bad.

A Domainer to me represents a professional who knows what he/she is about...and owns plenty domains which to him/her is an investment capable of being traded etc...

A Domain Owner represents a person who owns one or two domains for website development purposes....

Like a:
Footballer - Professional or Amateur
Football Owner - Your kid who takes his football outside for his other mates to use....

I prefer anything but "domainer". sounds too much like some kind of teenage thing to me; raver, rapper, skater, mosher, domainer...

Domainer isn't a word
Domain owner implies only one domain
Domain Dealer sounds good, however, the vast majority do not understand

My current answer to the question " What do you do?"
is "I sell virtual products on the internet"
Everyone replies "Oh, ok" meaning they understand.

I like "Sales Manager-Internet" for Occupation on forms
