Normally yes it's possible to transfer a number to somebody else but you're not supposed to 'warehouse' numbers like domains to resell them. This is explicitly forbidden by the FCC.

Saying that I know there is a lot of abuse in that industry. Front-running also takes place. You look up for a custom number at some toll-free site and then it's gone. It's been grabbed by the provider. If you want it you're at the mercy of that particular provider. It's a well documented ploy and I have experienced it personally :upset:

Hey lordbyroniv.

someone mentioned above that www.tollfreenumbers.com is the place to go.

They are right..

If you have any questions, please feel free to pm me.

I've done toll-free phone numbers for the past 10 years.

I've got numbers such as 866 real estate, 800 home 411, 800 certified, 800 tree expert etc.

The business is a lot like domaining.

However the problem is there are legal implications as stated above with hording and brokering phone numbers.

the Federal Communications Commission does not view phone numbers as property that can be owned by citizens.

They view phone numbers as "on lease".

Therefore you never really own the phone number.. you have what are known as "end user" rights, but you never technically own phone number.

Therefore, if you don't own it you can't sell it.

PM me and I'll be more than happy to tell you all about it.

thanks

Mark

Uhmmm...

Yet you still post the numbers you own?......hmmmm....

Kind of like domain names lol... as previously stated.

The point I hope to make at this moment while enjoying this Merlot is to at least use the Exclusive section for posts that will be picked up by the surf engines in...well, now. If I were a company and wanted those numbers (which you mentioned with intention), you've created a major liability.

Is mentioning somthing with intention not ok here?

how would it be a liability? they are my numbers that I use for myself?

go to www.1800TreeExpert.com. I am a tree guy.

Cheers
