Would like to hear your thoughts on the value of Dryspell (dot) com.

I received an offer on the domain and I am considering it.

Can you put a dollar amount on the value?

Cheers!

old players may go thru a dryspell, businesses, sales people

as well as farmers

it's an often used term, but the question is...

can it be commercialized?

any converting type-ins?

I like the domain name. I think if you can find a good Clickbank product that teaches guys how to get dates, if the owner of the product is successful you can sell him on the opportunity to branch out to this domain name and generate more sales.

Thanks for the appraisals.
Converting type-ins are minimal.
The first thing that came to my mind was what you mentioned Barry: an educational website on how to pick up etc..

The question is, do you guys think the name has commercial value and if so should I hold onto it or sell it for the offer I received?

The offer is ironically matching the name. :D

though at this moment, can't picture a concrete commercial use, even with "barry's" idea.
as there are tons of "dating hook-up" sites and many are struggling ( see news about christian mingle).

still, the offer range, if it was the initial bid, is probably 1/3 > 1/2 of what "that" buyer may be willing to pay

so even without usage idea (which is buyers problem), i'd counter with additional $3k and be prepared for them to walk.

as you never know how a name like that could trend in the future

but.... if you need funds, you know what to do.

:)

Good Luck!

I like the name and don't think it would be worth selling unless you have a bunch better and you can afford to lose a nice one. Unless it is in the $5K range, might as well hold on to it.

Assuming I decide to hold on to it, who will I be able to sell it to for 3-5k (which seems to be the sweet spot)?

If it is a first offer I'd counter for higher.

It is a short word/term that almost everyone who speaks english knows. Someone could come up for a good use for it in the future and be willing to pay more, or like biggie said the word could trend in the future for many reasons.

Thanks for all the appraisals from trusted members.

I've decided to hold on to the name. Hopefully one day it will pay off.

Many thanks.

I would ask 3x offer and see how things develop.

This offer was not the initial offer. It was after some negotiation. That being said, I can safely say that it would not go much higher.
