The earh rotates because of the: (1) original momentum of the matter that formed it; and (2) conservation of energy by the lack of friction in gravity suspension in space.

Extra credit: Does anyone know who first asserted that the earth is suspended "over nothing"?

Right as usual goh! Excellent "job" search skills! :)

Please indugle one more and then I'll stop these cosmology comments --

Who first asserted the primal form of matter and energy in the Universe as follows -- "...the very beginning of the Universe. Physical laws as we know them did not exist due to the presence of incredibly large amounts of energy, in the form of photons..."?

With little if any doubt a fraudulent auction. Do not believe anyone would place a legitimate bid of almost one-half million $ when the reserve was only $2500. They would first bid say $2,600, $3000., $4000., etc.

Plus, the name does not seem to be worth much anyway. I know I would not pay more than about $100 for it, if that much.

Also, most 'e' prefix names are no longer popular as they were several yrs ago with speculators or for developed web-sites, with a few notable exceptions like etrade.com.

this is most likely shill bidding at its worst. I was a victim of shill bidding at Afternic back in the day. Lucky I wasn't out too much. I'm an optimist, so I know I'll eventually break even.
