ENGLAND IS A COUNTRY

UK is a bunch of countries and states.

In fact it's time we campaigned for home rule for England, or maybe even Wessex (the country that started it all).

The capital of Wessex is Winchester where the hard drive for computers was invented - hence the name. (Actually it was just outside Winchester in a village called Hursley).

I didn't understand "hence the name". What name do you mean?

DomeBase,
what will be your valuation on england.info seeing this poll?
I mean something like what you did for star.info.
Thanks

Hi dvdrip,

Well, this is a tall order since this is on the upper end of both name sales for .INFO and even perhaps all extensions on this forum ... but I will do my best.

If one were do to a similar valuation like I did for Star.info, one would suggest selling this name in the median range around $5,000-$8,000. However, I did get another offer higher than the median range after I sold it.

I would guess $5,000-$8,000 should sell. A more abitious target, but quite possible given the six votes for over $22,000 (!!) would be over $12,000.

It is really hard to tell at these relatively high levels how many folks in this forum have, or know folks who have, that much money and are interested in .INFO... even though it is one of the most promising new TLDs. Then too, there are some folks who have the money and like .INFOs, but like to get them cheap :).

That's about the best I can do. Now its up to you and the market :). I do think, however, that at least this poll provided some good framework data.

You may also have info on what bids you have received at SEDO.

What do other folks think?

Best wishes. We'll be watching with interest.

That looks to be true in common usage in the real world.

However, for the purposes of .INFO registration, reality is not the determining factor in the threat of domain reclaimation by the Registry (Afilias)... but rather the "offical" country list

http://www.info/whois_search/reserved_names

Based on this list, it looks like England.info is one of the few domain names that most folks would think of as a country but is not in danger of possible reclaimation by the Registry based on the official listed posted at the Registry

It would not be the first time that ICANN related stuff diverges from reality ;)

Yep, and I find it extremely annoying.

How would americans like to be told that the US is not a country and that America includes Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Cuba.
