I have heard that if you use RegistryRocket you do not have to deposit money to buy domains at your base price. Is this true?

And if it is, how does it work? Do you just use your CC and buy them?

I appreciate it. :)

Do you think you get them for free? :)

You have to deposit $$$ to reg, unless you have a retail account, which you do not, because you have registry rocket.

The problem was that his response didn't help me. :) No one said anything about getting this for free.

But, as I said, I did find out what I needed to find out.

Thanks for reading/responding.

If you don't want to deposit funds with your Credit Card in your reseller account ($100 min required) but you want to purchase a couple of names just create a Retail sub-acccount for yourself and set the prices as low as you are able to (ie. no profit). To get this price add the credit card handling fees on top of your reseller price. For a $6.95 reseller account you would set the retail account to $8.15.

Even if you have no desire to pay the additional buck and change for the privelege of buying and paying for names one at a time I would still recommend creating this retail sub-account as it will LOCK your prices. Your EMT will not be able to raise your prices if you have this retail sub-account.

I though the lowest price you could set up any subaccounts is at $8.95. I tried doing something like that recently, and the lowest price I could set it to was $8.95. And, yes, I did add the CC fees to my price in order to get those fees worked in, and it still wouldn't let me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:)

When creating the account you have the option of creating a Reseller account or a Retail account. Make sure you check the radio button for Retail.

Reseller accounts have the $8.95 restriction only.

Interesting. Is it enough if you just put a domain into this retail sub-account and you lock your prices in main reseller account ?

Good question by heatfan - if you create a $8.15 retail sub account under your $6.95 reseller account, can you buy a domain for $6.95 in the reseller account and then push it to the retail sub-account for no charge and then it "lock" the account and prices? But then, I would imagine that come renewal time you would either have to pay the higher price from the retail subacct or push it back to the reseller acct to get it for the lower price and then push it back to the retail acct and hope that the EMT will not catch it during the open interval. ???

My main question is this -- is heatfan correct in that if he has a retail subacct with a domain name in it, will that lock in his prices on the reseller acct? If so, then could the domain that is in the retail subacct been just pushed into it rather than purchased from it?

Also, I think I read elsewhere that a subacct cannot be deleted if it has domains in it. Suppose there is a reseller subacct called A, which has a subacct (either retail or reseller) in it called B. I know that A can delete B if B is empty. If B has subaccts, then can A delete B? Does it matter if the subaccts in B are empty or not?

Lock prices? No. He means since it is your sub, you would be the one who would change it, and you wouldn't.

You can test that yourself by creating a sub account, and then creating a sub account under that one.
