I support the eradication of cyberterrorism utilizing means available to forces that apprehend regular terrorists, e.g. special forces and black ops. Why was Dinzer reluctant to disclose his background and locale?

so what you are saying is that an everyday crook in newyorker could be nuked along with his neighborhood where he lives ?

why do you even ask where he lives so you can bully him because of where he lives or what nationality or race is he ? you asked him once and its not like he is obliged to answer to you or anyone ! why should it matter ?

Dinzer has sensitivities that he brings forward but he's also hiding behind anonymity; these two don't reconcile. To fully counter-debate his position, I'd have to have a full disclosure about his background and geolocation. It's easier to defend those that break the law when you share a common background with them. My hunch is that he's Iranian and definitely anti-American.

My points were made about the notorious scammers from Iran. Dinzer was defensive of these guys. I don't see a problem with upping the ante for those that believe they are out of the reach of the law.

There is a due process for scammers in the US. So far the problem seems to be dealing with scammers outside of the US.

Out of order and offensive on so may levels ..

You're right, that's why whoever can't take the heat should stay out of the kitchen.

Acro, and anyone who supported you in what you said, you are wrong this time. I'm so sorry, but you have gone down in my estimation. Dinzer_dot_com is perfectly right. The original remark was completely uncalled for and highly liable to give offence. I feel that Dinzer took a very rational approach in how he tried to explain his reason for how he saw it. Such comments have absolutely no place in a domain forum - or in any other forum, either. They are either made from stupidity (in which case one would not expect senior members of the forum to support them) or from malice (in which case it's the duty of all of us to speak out against them). I have only just seen this thread and can't believe that it has been allowed to continue the way it has. There is a fine line between allowing free speech and permitting it to be used as a weapon. I think it has been crossed this time. :(

It's not about who's wrong and who's right, it's about delivering justice. When a jester sits up top the castle, pissing down on the passers-by it will take a bowman's arrow to bring this person down.

Now, Acro, as an intelligent person how can you make a statement like that? First of all, it is about 'who's wrong and who's right,' as there would obviously be no question of 'delivering justice' otherwise.

Secondly, taking 'a bowman's arrow' is quite different from bombing an area that might contain the person you want to attack, thereby risking killing many more besides this person. Here we leave out the question of whether in this case the punishment fits the crime. In fact, the punishment seems much more like what we would expect from Sharia than Western law (stoning adulterers to death, etc.).

Finally, I am sure you know in your heart that just because one scammer might be from a particular country, this does not mean that all the citizens of this country are scammers. Otherwise all Americans would be murders like Jeffrey Dahmer or Charles Manson, and all Greeks would be wise like Socrates, which they so obviously aren't.

OK, other than delivering a lecture for the rights of cyberterrorists do you have any suggestions about how to deal with them?

A kiss on the cheek and telling them bad things would take them to hell don't work.

Oh, Acro, you have forgotten the rules of civilised argument. You must attack what is being said rather than the person who is saying it. I am not 'delivering a lecture for the rights of cyberterrorists,' but speaking out as I see fit. That is my entitlement. I have not set out to offend you by so doing, or to show support for terrorism. I have, however, set out to defend someone against the charge of terrorism just because he dared to pick you up on your completely uncalled-for words.

First they came for the socialists,
and I did not speak out because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

We can talk academics or we can discuss the problem and the options we have to fight it. I am sorry but while I support passive resistance when it comes down to overthrowing tyrants, with scum that attempt to deprive me of my hard-earned income I take a different approach: instead of defense, I go into offense. Instead of waiting, I go in and take no prisoners. That's what I am trying to instill here. Unless proactive measures are taken to eradicate the known sources of cyberterrorism, we will be sitting here talking about the perpetrators' rights while they hijack, cheat, extort and profit from our efforts.
