Hehe. :)

Well I actually just got the name last night in a trade - and the whois should update anytime. Allthough there will be somebody else's name there now - because I just sold it to the person who had replied to my "Buy Now" price that I had sent much earlier. Again - this was the FIRST person to agree to my price - and even though I had already withdrawn the name and quit quoting a price to anybody else - I had to honor that original offer because that's fair.

The new owner is in this thread by the way. :)

Thanks to everybody for the offers and the kind words too. Like I said - this was my first and last "private offer" sale because it's just too much hassle when it's a popular name - and lots of people are interested. In the end - only one person can get the name - and it's best for everything to stay in the open. No more private stuff for me.

Flowers.org - *SOLD*

Nick, you've been flawless until this last one. And no, I don't think it was "fair" as you said.

It was a travesty of a sale.

Especially the part where you asked us all to PM you for the "buy now" price, then sent a mass-PM with a reference to the thread - where you announce that you're pulling the name - without disclosing the "buy now" price.

I don't think anyone here works for the IRS

Am I pissed? Yes, because I was not given the "fair" chance of bidding on the name. If you didn't care about how much I'd be willing to bid, you should have kept this sale private.

That's not only wrong - but it's an insult.

Just for the record .....

I simply put a name up for offers. Some of the first emails I got inquired about my "buy now" price. I answered those emails. Then I started getting lots of offers - and many of them were for the same amount because people didn't know what other people had bid. Nobody had agreed to my "buy now" price though. This is when I realized that a private offer scenario was not good - and it makes me uncomfortable to tell PersonA that PersonB has bid more - and then pressure them to raise their bid too. Not to mention the duplicate bids that were coming in.

So I just withdrew the name - and sent a quick message to the people who were interested - and told them to see my latest post. I wanted input on what type of auction people would prefer. Nobody replied with any feedback though - except you with your poem - and Bob who said the DNFAuction would be a good idea. That's all that happened. I was under no obligation to anybody for ANYTHING.

However - in the meantime one of the first people that I HAD sent the "buy now" price to (before withdrawing the name) wrote me back and agreed to meet the price. Since I had already offered the name to him at that price (and a few other people too) I feel that I was obligated to honor that original price.

Why did you respond with a poem instead of feedback on a new auction? I really can't say. That's something that only you can answer - but you are barking up the wrong tree here. Geez....

An insult? Hardly. Anyone reading this thread will be able to deduce that the sale rules were violated several times.

What I really think, judging from the fact that until 40 minutes (Record last updated 06-05-2003 12:41:41 AM) before you re-established the sale announcing a buyer the WHOIS at the Registrar's site showed someone else as the owner, is that flowers.org got "drop-shipped".

Like my new avatar?

I am dissapointed in this sale to, I was very interested in this name, and made an offer for it, and asked for an email back. But its not your fault.

P.S -> I just upgraded to gold!

Dude - I honestly have no clue what you are talking about - and frankly I don't care. There was NOTHING wrong here - and you are freaking out. I really don't know what your problem is - but I'm asking you nicely to back off because I don't deserve to be hassled. Thank you.

Thanks Mox. That's the problem. Only one person could end up with the name - and everybody else was going to be disappointed. That's always the case though.

Congrats on your Gold status!

Your sale is over, so we can freely discuss this.

What I am saying here, is that your original post was made to attract buyers for the name, while you negotiated its purchase from the old owner, based on these bids. That's what drop-shipping is. That explains the mystic shroud surrounding the sale and the various hiccups of it - along with the last minute change of the WHOIS records.

I am glad you made the sale, just don't underestimate my intelligence.

Over and out.

Timechange.

LOOK DUDE...

Why don't you write the old owner at [email protected] - and confirm the name was transferred to me LAST NIGHT - BEFORE I ever mentioned it to ANYBODY - and BEFORE this thread was started. There was no "drop-ship". Come on!

Also - I didn't BUY it. I TRADED for it. I can't help the fact that the whois record didn't update yet. Sometimes that happens.

I can't believe the crap you are suggesting - and to ME of all people.

That hurts man. It's completely false - and it hurts.

You offer a name for sale.

Then you ask everyone to PM you for the "buy now" price.

Then you don't reply to those PM's, instead you announce the sale is called off.

The only person that gets the "buy now" price via PM suddenly becomes the new owner.

Where is the logic behind this?

Please tell us what the "buy now" price was and I will raise the ante by $1.

As for my poem; I retracted it like you did with your sale :D

DUDE - he is NOT the only one who got the "buy now" price. I have no idea why you are even saying that. Just because YOU didn't get the price - doesn't mean that people who sent me requests HOURS before you didn't get it. There were at least 5 people who DID get a "buy now" quote from me before I decided to withdraw the name.

I have stated this VERY clearly more than once.

Then... even though I withdrew the name - I honored the price when that person wrote back - which was the fair thing to do for him - since I had already put it in writing in the EARLIER message to him.

What is SO hard to understand here???????

This is the biggest piece of shit attack I have ever seen - and I will not soon forget it. You have accused me of crap that is wrong and an insult to my reputation. I can't believe this crap.

Timechange - send me your email address so I can forward the transfer email from the registrar last night - which will show you the date and time. I can't believe this "drop ship" stuff you are suggesting. Who the hell do you think you are dealing with? I bend over backwards to give people good deals ALL the time - and I have NEVER listed a name that wasn't in my possession.

No matter how many people I tried to reply to - all but 1 was going to end up disappointed. That's just the way it works. We all know that.

Send me your email address.

Hi Nick, flowers.org has to be the most in-demand name I have ever seen at this forum.

After seeing the amazing demand you must be upset you sold the name without more open bidding as judging by this thread it seems you may have got a much higher price, perhaps several hundred percent greater.

How do you account for the amazing interest in this dot-org? Can you disclose the price? You must have made lots of money since you paid no cash at all, just a trade. Can you disclose the name you traded for it with the owner of roses.com?

To have a "fair" sale as you stated, you could have:

1. Announced the buy now price at the forum, or
2. Replied to every PM that inquired for it.

My PM was not replied with a price, instead you sent me that "go here to read about the auction" message that said the auction is called off.

I had $4k sitting here for the name and I doubt you got more than $2,250 for it.

I can confirm that Nick had ownership of this name well before he mentioned it on the forum, as he and I discussed it.

TimeChange - it says quite clearly in Nick's original post "If anybody should be interested in a 'buy now' price - just contact me.", which you obviously failed to both read and/or do in a timely fashion.

So, he neither made it unfair or drop-shipped the domain. I guess you should apologise.

While we're at it, it's his domain to do as he sees fit with. If he chose to sell it for $1 despite being offered $1 Million that's his choice.

Beachie are you the new owner and you jumped in? I guess we'll find out soon from the WHOIS.

If you have no idea about my private communications then I'd suggest you keep your beak shut (what with being a penguin).

I PM'ed Nick at 2:36pm today asking what his buy now price was, well before he posted at 9:45pm that he wanted more feedback.

Instead of a quote - what a normal seller would do - I received a reply at 9:59pm that the rules changed yadda yadda yadda.

So give me a break with all that drivel - money talks, bullshit walks.
