It was a travesty of a sale.
That's not only wrong - but it's an insult.
Just for the record .....
I simply put a name up for offers. Some of the first emails I got inquired about my "buy now" price. I answered those emails. Then I started getting lots of offers - and many of them were for the same amount because people didn't know what other people had bid. Nobody had agreed to my "buy now" price though. This is when I realized that a private offer scenario was not good - and it makes me uncomfortable to tell PersonA that PersonB has bid more - and then pressure them to raise their bid too. Not to mention the duplicate bids that were coming in.
So I just withdrew the name - and sent a quick message to the people who were interested - and told them to see my latest post. I wanted input on what type of auction people would prefer. Nobody replied with any feedback though - except you with your poem - and Bob who said the DNFAuction would be a good idea. That's all that happened. I was under no obligation to anybody for ANYTHING.
However - in the meantime one of the first people that I HAD sent the "buy now" price to (before withdrawing the name) wrote me back and agreed to meet the price. Since I had already offered the name to him at that price (and a few other people too) I feel that I was obligated to honor that original price.
Why did you respond with a poem instead of feedback on a new auction? I really can't say. That's something that only you can answer - but you are barking up the wrong tree here. Geez....
