SubwayGrinders would be a good name for a niche restaurant instead. Grinders = sandwich.

Back on topic a little bit.... This might be a good buy at 3 mil, considering, if I can remember correctly, that the search results (Overture) for "porn" and "free porn" were or are, Very close.

If porn.com sold for $9 mil and some change, this might of just been a Steal.

Let's look at some numbers....

Porn.com ~~~~~FreePorn.com

Alexa 61,473 ~~~~72,758

Compete 7,177 ~~~12,130

Quantcast 7,766 ~~10,842

Links 14,779 ~~~~~4,443

G Indexed pages 0 ~~510

Both are pretty darn close in traffic. These numbers are from DomainTools so they could be off a little... the Alexa is up to date.

But Yofie, users looking for free something tend to convert less into sales compared with traffic just looking for regular something. Especially on this kind of scale, monetization is everything and I'm not convinced FreePorn.com impressions will be worth as much as Porn.com impressions.

I do agree somewhat, but how much rev comes from ads, compared to sign ups etc..

Great sale, one of the best adult names there is. CyrusL if you get a taste for something which is free and you like it, what generally happens? Plus as Yofie suggested ad revenue alone would be significant.

But the only reason people are advertising is because they are going to get sign ups. At the end of the day someone, somewhere, needs to be paying for something. To ignore that fact breaks a major link in the chain of how domain parking works.

The reason some keywords are worth more than others is because those keywords produce more valuable sign ups for advertisers. When coupled with competition for those clicks, advertisers increase their bid prices for those clicks giving more revenue to site owners. When the clicks don't produce as many sign ups (as I content they won't with FreePorn.com when compared with Porn.com), advertisers lower their bid prices thus lowering the revenue for the site owner.

There is no cheating the system. Especially with the trend towards more transparency in ad networks, it is going to be tough to blend in traffic that has less value to the people paying the domainer's bills.

Why is Chinese traffic worth less than American traffic? Why is insurance traffic worth more than adult traffic? These differences in RPMs we've all grown to accept exist for a reason, and it is because of the competition between advertisers in their quest to convert as many visitors into sales a possible. If those visitors don't convert then it's only a matter of time...

Challenging an established system or way of thinking doesn't always boil down to envy, that is a one eyed and naive view of the world. If someone pokes fun at Rick Schwartz, it doesn't mean that the person is jealous of Rick's success, it's a cop out to imply that. Free thinkers challenge the world around themselves, now I don't know anything about Sasquatch, but I don't sense envy in his posts. It would seem he gets a kick out of shuffling the cards a bit, and then probably sits back and laughs at sheepish responses to it all, the "envy cry" being one of them.
Sure but some posts on a message board aren't going to change anything. Thats just armchair activism. His time could be better spent doing just about anything else.

Changing something? I think Sasquatch just floats his boat for entertainment's sake. If he's actually dining at the same places as Schwartz [who know's if it's true], I doubt he's flippin' burgers, and hard up for cash.

It's really All About Traffic. In this case, they are both getting about the same amount. I would say Porn.com is getting a little more, but then it comes down to Creative Marketing! Getting your wording just right by your ads.

For research purposes only, I checked out both sites. Porn.com, wow, that is one crappy site! Homepage is FULL of Text Only and all the text is linked. No.. Are you 18 or anything.

FreePorn.com starts off with the Are you 18, which makes the user think right away... After I click this, It's going to see Porn. Sure enough, porn on the second page. Pics, movie links etc Again, creative marketing by the ads!!!
