With gas prices so high do you slow down or do you go as fast as ever even with your SUV? How do you cope with high gas prices? Today in Vancouver, BC I've seen the highest price ever $1.42 (1 Litre) ($5.36 per Gallon)!!!

It's alright for some... We're at about £1.10 a litre (~$2.20) :(
We are even worse here in Portugal... 1.50 EUR a litre (~$2.36).

$1.42 is a really good price, I wish we had it

gas prices are about $8.75 per gallon here... but doesn't affect my habits much. I don't drive that much, (I sit by the computer!), and the gas cost is marginal compared to the other costs for the car... (I think the leasing cost for the car comes to about $2.75 per mile I drive, so...)

I raised my prices for onsite service. And it's partially deductible as a business expense. Talk to your accountant about incorporating yourself, it may help. I drive 40-50k miles annually, fill up 2-3 times a week. While I'd *like* to spend less on fuel, I have to be comfortable, so no beercan on wheels for me.

We have my little Kia but my wife also has a minivan (we need it, 4 large dog crates are in there). :)

I'm suprised at the number of SUVs I still see around and I hear that they're still selling OK. Eh.

My work van gets about 16 miles per gallon, better than I thought (thank god the company pays for gas!). The Kia gets about 20-25 and the minivan about 15-20.

dealers are giving nothing for SUV trade ins right now they are overstocked in used suv's and can't sell them. Gas prices really don't effect me and my civic as gas prices go up my monthly cost goes up by 10-15 dollars.

I said they were selling OK, not well. I guess it's all of the rich people here. I hear that someone in Palm Beach country uses enough water to fill up a 50 gallon tub every 4 minutes. Aren't we in some water restrictions?

(Tiger Woods would fill one up every 7-8 minutes).

Some of my client's clients are car dealers and they're not selling SUVs in the huge numbers that they used to but still sell some for people who don't need them (needing them - moving equipment, off-roading, etc, most because they just want an SUV).

My Kia is in the same boat as your Civic but with my work van (30 gallon tank) I've noticed a huge difference in just the 2 months I've been driving it. Any more and I might have to start teaching stores how to fix their own computers.

My wife and I are also debating renewing our platinum passes to Sea World. Not because of how much they cost (about $250 a pass) but because it now would cost us close to $120-$150 in just gas to go to Orlando and back just in gas. If gas goes up the way it is, chances are we won't renew them next year (which would break my heart).

I just paid $3.87 and filled up for $40, every time I go to the store prices inch higher on stuff. My dad is driving long haul tracker trailer loads right now, my mom said after his share of the last 2 loads. He lost money about 3 days work, and that he has not been paid in over a month and 1/2.

They have a ser charge to pay for their fuel, but my dad said it cost $1200 to fill both tanks. And they been only giving him $300 to $400 at a time, this is not a very good sign that is for sure. But we have been warned years ago about this, if we get some bad weather that takes out, some oil I hate to even think about what will happen.

I found this, it may cheer you beer drinkers up some....

I registered interest in a Tesla Roadster for when they finally become street legal here (if it ever happens... didn't happen for the Carver).
Fuel costs have been rising about 10%p.a. since 2003 if you do the maths simply. On that same logic, the cost of weekly fuel for me pays of a Tesla Roadster entirely in around 7 years.
Seeing as I'd hold onto that baby for a decade anyway, it's basically a free car when compared to the cost of the fuel itself.

I started carpooling with a fellow software engineer at my company. We live 5 miles apart, but it definitely saves a lot in the end since we have to drive 25-27 miles to work everyday.

Turkey has the highest gasoline and diesel prices in the world due to high taxes and profit margins in addition to soaring oil prices, new energy data has revealed. The price of a liter of gasoline reached $2.6 and diesel $2.4, according to International Energy Agency data. With the recent price hikes, gas and diesel prices hit YTL 3.48 and YTL 3.03, respectively.
