Hi,

I came across this very good news in Frank Schilling's blog yesterday.

The owners of CheapTickets.ca not only saved their domain
from being snatched away they petitioned the courts to have
the Complainant's trademark cancelled and won!

Read about it here

Congrats, Zak. It took balls to tackle that one, and you won. :)

Yes indeed Zak is one of the best around. I highly recommend anyone with a domain dispute contact him. Zak was also successful for me last year :)

Perhaps this changes the rules for companies like Easy.com, They appear to be aggressive over protecting 'easy' domains.

who's zak?

today I rec'd a letter from a big french bank fil banque - fil banque (dot) com - ignore the spaces of course. they are coming after me for sans fil banque (dot) com. fil means wire, sans fil means wireless. I own tons of other sans fil and french / english banking domains and had never even heard of fil banque in france (I live in Canada hence my interest in french domain names dot com and dot ca).

it doesn't even come close to their fil banque marks - it is actually the complete opposite. I emailed and listed why they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. maybe I'll send them this news release as well!

I will go after them for reverse hijacking right away if they pursue it.

It's too bad it takes a top lawyer to point out the obvious.
