lol

but I'm not trying to dwelve into porn. Porn can go with pretty much any name, and honestly, this is one side of the internet most people wouldn't want to be associated with, at least the development part.

I'm trying to talk about legitimate businesses, domains that you can base a company, a business on, something that you can sell to people, put on a supermarket shelf. Not all generics can sovle this purpose.

Sounds exactly like a legitimate porn company to me....

not all anything can do anything. But most generics will have broad appeal to a larger audience than overspecialised terms.

innocent? eco friendly product, anti capitalist, planet-saving charity, charity in general, healthy, sexy, I could go on.

naive? it's harder but: sex education, teen education, parenting, education in general, porn/underwear/etc. I'm sure there are plenty more.

Agreed, generics are overrated as a category.

Sex.com is a great generic, right?

Hahahahaha, I'd rather own Playboy.com.

;)

a company might approach me with a six figure offer for xhgmsmm.com too, but that doesn't mean that the name is worth that much.

I'm talking about the inherent value of a domain name, extrapolated from the traditional valuation models. Not all generics can pass muster in that case.
