The trick is not to leave any funding source available like a saved credit card number, so they can't bill you automatically.

true

also, another tip, when you go and manage a domain and check the box, say you change dns

then if you want to change auto renew, uncheck box, recheck box, then do again, or wont work

you should also get a confirmation email if done

never use registarrs hosting, its a fals economy and crap

you wouldn't reg domains with a host, so why host with a registar

dedicated server is way to go, private

They pulled this same kind of BS on me... I cant count the number of times I set my domains to UN-Locked or NOT Renew, only to find out days later my settings were returned to Locked and Auto Renew.

It was at time when I was transferreing most of them out.... It proved to be such a headache with that and other things, I no longer use them as a Registrar.

Same here..Just got slapped with renewals on couple of my domains which were set NOT to renew! :-( I remember it happened multiple times in the past..

Greed is a disease, and the greatest living Pandemic of all time.

Imagine if GoDaddy simply supplied good Customer Service and Products at a fair price - and people respected them for being professional - WOW, what business principals and values that would be!

It's sad to watch people sell-out their values for an extra nickel on their pay-cheque just to go work for such companies whoms actions speak louder than their words. Apethetic conformity to wrong-doing is what's ruining the World. If anyone at GoDaddy had any Integrity, they would speak out - yet the silence is deafening.

...and people are surprised when greed leads to economic downfalls. (LOL - yet continue to perpetuate such selfish greed.) This 'recession' was by design and foreseeable years ago, as Sustainonomics is NOT the underpinning of the economy - rather, for the most part, short-term greed is. Globalization has hi-lighted this with geo-specific pockets of greed leaving the World beholden to the selfishness of a few at a loss to the many.

A culture of selfish greed seen in individuals, companies and throughout the marketplace, and World as a whole, continues to ruin life for everyone.

Ignorance of the laws of nature is Not an excuse for commiting Planetcide, as we Do Not inherit the Earth from our Parents, rather we borrow it from our Child. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just selfish and greedy, which in the end, shows a lack of intelligence. Without an ecology there is no economy - DUH!!

Ignorance is not bliss, rather just ignorance. Education, Information and Knowledge are Power. Community spirit will always out-shine selfish individualism. Make the World a better place and help cure greed - be a leader to those around you. Show how to share. Show how to think about others. Show how to care. Show how to be real. Show the World a better place. Make the World a better place - for everyone.

Thanks for letting us know the truth about selfish, greedy businesses so that others do not get treated the same shameful way! :eek:k:

Then they would not be the world's #1 registrar. They would have 1-2 million names under management, not 25 :)
Likewise you do not expect personal service when shopping at walmart. You are looking for cheap goods, or the illusion of a good deal.
godaddy is not the worst registrar but may be too big to care.

Some business are only number 1 because they lied, cheated and scammed their ways to the top - therefore being #1 says nothing about having Integrity.

GM was a big company which lost its way from caring and ventured into the forest of greed - Now who's laughing? ..and starting to care again (whether by will or by legislation)? Please Note: This example obviously also applies to other greedy companies which were around for decades only to collapse under the weight of their own greed. Look @ the American banking industry, once considered pillars of the global economy only to show they are not relevant to making the World a better place as their greed ruined life for many.

IMO, GoDaddy may have volume now, but they too will collapse under their own lack of professionalism (assuming they do not bring themselves back in line with more professional and ethical standards), as better companies will fill the void of people looking to do business with companies whom have more Integrity. Look at the exodus taking place right now as we type. Professional customer service sells more in the long-run then greed. People are sick of the 2-faced bait-n-switch tactics many greedy companies pursue.

Surveys and history shows people will pay more for professionalism.

IMO, GoDaddy is just a micro-example of a macro-problem for those suffering from being greedy. Also IMO, with help from healthy-minded people, Greed can be eradicated (for the most part). Make a difference - be the cure - vote with your dollar and don't support Greed, support Honesty (where available and possible). :p

I always try to delete domains that have the 90 renew notice...

90 days to get another nickel from your expired domain... and some of you say GD is a cheap scammer trying to get more money. lol

gd has 25 million customers, now before you complain why dont you try to manage 25 million of anything.

Edited ***delete or renew at 90 day notice.***
