He always had a quick comeback. I do remember one time when he got upstaged though. We hosted the John McKay Show on channel 13 in 1976. McKay got perturbed at the questions our host (Andy Hardy) was asking him and lashed out "Andy, you don't know ANYTHING about football!" Andy promptly replied, "Maybe not John, but I believe I could coach the team to an 0-26 record too!" . We didn't get the show back the next year. :-D

Now, not to throw this thread any furthur off track, like others my GoDaddy success rate has plunged in recent weeks. I did catch some good ones early on (in fact just sold one of those catches yesterday in the 3-digit range). There is a lot more competition out there now than there was 3 months ago though.

I can definitely picture Andy saying that, Ron ... and McKay reacting like the pompous, condescending putz that he was. Ironically, had the roles been reversed, McKay would have quipped that line himself.

I wish I could agree with all of you and deter everyone from ordering Backorders.

But I believe that my record so far with Godaddy is

73 out of 627, not bad considering the price, the backorders are exchangable, and I only backorder traffic names, that generally have NW bids of over $150.

I have seen no difference, actually all of my catches have been through Domainut.com

They are actually two different registrars, but you can only place one backorder at either place. So my guess is that they are using both connections to catch, better than any other single registrar should be able to do.

And a great price at $12.30

Just closed a deal for Native ($12.30 backorder) for $10,500.

Same way i felt when they caught Native.com for me, after the problems I had with enom about legaladvice.com being in my account then gone, i was sure it was the same sort of situation, until the name was still in my account the next day

No $10K names, of course, but they did have $35-65 bids at NW the night before.

It is a lottery ticket but it works better than most pick 3 games.

You can do well with just one registrar if you only go after the best names, but GoDaddy goes after many names, and since they don't have a bidding system, they go after all names equally, thus diminishing your chances of catching something spectacular, but it's not impossible as you have seen.
