Excuse me. The very same god is worshipped by Jews, Christians and Muslims.
Why should Christians only be insulted by this?

Your Logic is bit off Options.

Just because I didn't include other groups in my statement doesn't mean ONLY Christians would be insulted.

example:

Statement:
Dogs don't like Cats

Your Logic:
ONLY Dogs dont' like Cats.

Proper Logic:
Dogs don't like Cats, but it is possible that other animals don't like Cats as well.

Just because I didn't mention Jews or Muslims doesn't mean they wouldn't also be insulted. It simply means I didn't mention them.

Thanks though.

Wow, you really struck a nerve with this one. Good for you!

Personally, I think most religious people have it backwards. Man created "God" in his image, and have since spent their time trying to figure how to live up to their creation. The problem is, it's not possible.

If we spent a fraction of our resources helping others that we use propping up the world's religions, the world would be a much better place. Not to mention safer as well, since "God" is at the root of many of the world's conflicts.

I'm sure I'll be crucified (figuratively, of course) by those who believe differently, but just remember that we all have the right to express our opinions equally, and just because you may disagree does nothing whatsoever to prove your belief has any more merit than mine.

Back to the domain, don't worry about eternal damnation - I'm pretty sure that won't happen. I think if you found the right buyer (there are plenty of disillusioned Christians out there) you could get at least beer & pizza money for it.

Are you sure there is no one there?

Are you sure there is no God?

Tell me where in your head your consciousness is, or what cells are responsible for lonliness, or where a spider learns architecture, or where birds learn navigation with less tools than any human navigator ever had.

You can't "prove" God because it's the wrong way the relationship works. YOU are the one being proved/tested.

Enough said.

You suggest beer & pizza money for the risk of eternal damnation? That is good advice?

Oh please. This is the worst kind of circular argument. For those who have bothered to learn how evolution works, the above questions are easily understandable (with the possible exception of the first one, but we are hardly unique on this planet with that characteristic).

Does anyone else find their intelligence being insulted here? Don't tell me you can't prove god because he doesn't want to be found. Until "He" tells me that himself, I will continue to believe it is a copout. You can't prove "God" because he doesn't exist.

I cannot tell you how any of the aforementioned statements occur, but nor can you.

We have spent millions of years evolving, becoming more complicated and more efficient. There are plenty of things we cannot understand, but this doesn’t mean that there is a God. It just means that some things are too complicated for us to understand at the moment. I think it is a lazy approach to say that all the things that we cannot comprehend and understand at the moment are a gods doing and such a view would put an end to the advancement of the human race.

That is just my opinion, and we are all entitled to it. No matter what harm it may cause.

P.S There is nothig wrong with selling the domain and buying a beer, I wouldn't think twice about it.

A copout from what?

Anyway I've studied evolution at the university level and have a pretty good grasp of the concepts involved, thank you.

well for selfdeclared atheists, think for a moment of the concept of

trying to treat others like you want to be treated

for the true believers and atheists -

love both opens your eye and makes you blind at the same time

denying one of both has its weaknesses

I mean no offense to anybody. My only point is that if you wish to believe in God, that is your right. Just be honest about it and say that you believe in God and all of the evidence you need exists in your faith.

When someone tells me we won't find God because he doesn't want to be found, I start feeling like I am being preached to.

Very kick-butt! Personally I stay away from these. Saw BlameJesus.com the other day, but I'm not going to hell over a domain name, so I passed. Emotion = traffic...and I bet everyone who saw the name remembers it RIGHT NOW!...which is the whole point of a good name. Touche!

Well, I'm an atheist, and I feel that the name is insulting to my strongly held disbeliefs in any god or gods, as the name implies that a god (albeit a failed one) exists. ;)
You may indeed not go to hell. :D

PS: Save some pizza and beer for me.
