Mr. Deleted, are you disputing my statement that it's just a sub-domain? Every subdomain sold in this scam is dependent on the owner of the base domain. They determine how the sub-domains are sold, forwarded, etc. If for some reason the folks who own nv.com decide to go out of business, all the sub-domains vanish. These subdomains can't be moved to other registrars -- you're at the mercy of the people who own nv.com.

New.Net took this concept one step farther -- they actually sold sub-domains of sub-domains.

Why you would support these guys is beyond my comprehension.

Did I say I "support" them? no, I did not... I have a few CentralNic.com subdomains, one of them is Amish.us.com. I know the owner of CentralNIC, Robert Pooke, and we chat sometimes on MSN.

The New.net concept is this: take money from people for somthing that does not even work... Unless all your visitors first download their spyware. Those names basicly never can get any traffic. They are more of a novelty. In that sense, they are not real domains.

The NV.com names are "rented" yes, but so is a reg fee for a .com, if you don't pay your "rent" (registration fee) you loose it.

new.net is trying to sell "name.xxx" by setting it up as "name.xxx.new.net", then you need their spyware to make it resolve at "name.xxx"
