Yeah that was announced yesterday morning. So that means the end of the invitations for Gmail? Since there is a link to register for a Gmail account.

I was thinking more in lines of this:

How in the hell they don't own their own domain?

How in the hell they don't care about it?

What would be the typo traffic for this lucky guy?

What are some possible typo ramifications for the rest of us busy registering all other variants?

Some guy here claims to have it.
He is not lucky at all.
Two days ago all the typos were available. I wouldnt have taken them if they were free.

If I were this Jumbodomain I would set it now to a parking site since I guess Google, Inc. will take their hands on the domain soon.

At least you milk the cow as long as you have your hands on her tits :clown:

I like it. Just because it's not bloated with features doesn't mean it's crap.

I think that is very idealistic take on things, and I don't think it will make any difference whatsoever whether you "bite" the "hand that feeds you" or not. If you don't do it, there are 100s (or 1000s or 100000s of k's) who will do it instead of you, so your individual behavior in a mass culture society we live in, is totally and utterly irrelevant to begin with. Besides, philosophically speaking it's not Google that feeds you, but the individual advertisers, or more precisely their desire to play the ruthless capitalist game. So looking from that perspective, you're basically stating that you will not allow your greed to match theirs, which is what I call a complete paradoxical loop.

Finally, if G. is ok with various misspellings of their main site, then imho they are "fair game" with this one too.

I can't believe you just said that. Everyone influences the world differently and uniquely. Suppose someone else was the holder of that trademarked domain, maybe they would be the one to register it, but then simply hand it over without trouble or question; While someone else might choose to fight it in court costing both companies many thousands of dollars, creating a media storm, and resulting in a bunch of new Domain News threads here on DNForum and related sites. The same event took place, registering the domain, but with very different outcomes.
