I have worked with a group that utilized not only maggots but leeches as well.

This was at a major university's medical center.

Alternative medicine is absolutely fascinating.

There are so many cultures and histories of bygone cultures that have been practicing medicine in traditional manners for centuries.

All of this is so intriguing and so mind boggling.

Here in my state there is a long standing tradition of mountaineers and home remedies utilizing just what the earth provides - earth, bark, herbs, leaves of trees, and so on.

Some African practice includes the use of red ants in the process of wound healing: allowing them to bite across a cut, then cutting off their heads once the skin is pinched together. Natural stapling!

Just stumbled on this Scott but it was interesting as I have been curious about it since first seeing it on tv. Mother Nature is amazing.

I have to say though that I particularly liked the closing line of the article...
They do not burrow into healthy flesh, preferring to eat each other when they run out of food.
Reminds me of some domainers I deal with!!:lol:

Maggots are used alot where I work and we do see some great results

I often ask "can you feel them moving" ... One guy replied "no,no just the odd nibble here and there" :uhoh:

I used to have some maggot domains. Seriously.

But I got rid of them; the renewals fees were
eating up the green tissue in my wallet.
