I want to be fair..I want to do the right thing in appraising my domains, however, domain appraisal companies are the difference between chalk and cheese! So far, I use sedo and domainworth for reliability and domain appraisal experience..anybody use any other domain appraisal tools so I can honestly gauge an average and somewhat accurate assessment?
Thanks!

Thats tough.

I cant trust anyone really. Havent tried DW, maybe I will.

But honestly,.... even paid appraisals are biased to how much you pay. It is an industry where you get what you pay for. Literally.

Kinda like hiring a lawyer. You can trust him as far as you can throw money at him.

Unless you have an absalute top quality top-tier domain .com, your best results are from places like dnf where you can get several persons opinions.
And they will be brutally but truthfully honest. They wont care about your feelings.

And that is a good thing.

Tell ya what,... post one of your domains in the appraisals section.

Then come back here and give some feedback of your opinion.

That would be worth a thousand words.

Don't listen to Mark he has trust issues. I place 100% faith in automated domain appraisal tools. Why would they develop the tool if it wasn't reliable? That being said, every time I tell my pet monkey what the tool thinks my domains are worth, he gives me a funny look. May be he is trying to tell me something.

You sure it has something to do with domains??

Or is it purely sexual.

Yup..I did..just waiting for a response
These are the first two domains of many that I wanted to appraise rather quickly. Sedo has given an incredible suggested appraisal for shoes.com.ag and wigglio.com is a word that I made up..and get quite a few visits.
. Also, I checked out rhinodomains.com very nice layout.

if i can offer a suggestion you really need more text on the home page. it looks wrong having such a long sidebar like that. maybe have like a featured domain section so you can have more eyeballs on your best names or some call to action down the bottom to add more text. anyway sorry for hijacking the thread.

Hi

sorry to say,

but your belief in the "reliability of appraisals" from those entities, based on their longevity as a 3rd party domain venue, is a misconception.

it is in any domain venues' interest, to appraise a domain at/or below "market" value to entice activity, when they also offer assistance with domain transfers, transactions, and escrow services.

it's not just looking at a name, retrieving some gkw numbers and then valuating.

what about the business model, commercial viability and uses for the name, etc.

imo...

EstiBot.com appraises 1.2 million domains per day.

It's the industry standard in automated domain name appraisals. It's the oldest service, and the most experienced.

All appraisals are based on historical sales and industry trends.

So I bought a domain for $10
Estibot estimates the domain worth $10,000

So what do I do to get $10,000?

You find an end-user and SELL it.

EstiBot provides end-user finding tools to help locate end users to sell domains to.

Automated appraisals are worthless.

I agree...but in fairness sometimes they get it right .. lmao :pound:

as far as paying to find out the value... seriously save your money. Find someone or ask people, someone will help you. JMO
