Hi,
I would like to ask for some advice. We are in the process of looking for a home for part of our Christian domain portfolio.

We are approached often to buy one domain at a time but aren't sure how to proceed since no one knows the vision, portfolio or background.

We would like to find someone to run with these as we are heavily involved in another ministry at this time in our life.

A lot of these domains go back to 1997 and 1998 and have many users.

ILoveJesus.com was started in 1997 to give an alternative to geocities for people to create web pages. At the time, there weren't any out of the box programs so we had to have a custom program built just to offer it. As primitive as the pages look, it didn't come cheap then. :)

There are many thousands of sites that were made over a decade or so and are still visited often. The sites are dated due to the lack of programming capabilities back then, but there is also a lot of great information still there that needs to remain.

The ChristianFunMail.com domains have around 30000 email users. I would like to make sure they still have a place since many have had their addresses since the 90's and still use them every day.

We are prepared to hold on to them for as long as it takes to find the right person but wanted to see if there was anyone who had a vision for them all. If not, we'll continue offering what we have to our users.

My hope would be to have someone take over the package and keep the ministry together but I am not sure how to approach it. Does anyone have any ideas of what to ask as far as an appraisal and if there is a trusted broker to work with?

I'm sorry for the long list of domains, but I will put them below.

Thanks so much for your help. :)
Lance

Some good names there, including the 3 letter dotcom which is worth, at minimum, the going rate of 3 letters (3K?). There seem to be some other decent ones there, as well. There are also many many names that have no value.

I would have to think that the list is worth at least 10K, but don't do anything fast with these until you get more feedback. I glanced over the list rather quickly, and the only danger I see is if someone offered you a lowball on the 3 letter, or tried to buy the whole list for 5K or so. The 3 letter (ILJ.com) is probably worth close to that alone, and anyone who offers 5K or less for the list would know that.

There are some others that could fetch decent money. If you eventually sell the list for at least 10K you can't really have regrets, and you have to allow the buyer the reasonable expectation to turn a profit, as well. But if you are looking for some crazy number of mid XX,XXX or so for the group I think you are dreaming.

Even though there are some good names here, there are also some bad ones, and the bad ones really detract from the good. I would advise figuring out which ones are bad, and then removing them from the list. Though you have some good names, you really don't have the type of names that can change someone's life if they bought them. Sure, some of the names can be used as part of a developed site, but they aren't really home runs.

Also remember, that any offers you may have received in the past might not be relevant to what you can receive today. Be happy with anything you get over 10K total.

Anyone appraising higher than low XX,XXX should be prepared to offer at least 70 percent of their appraisal amount right now or else I wouldn't take them seriously.

The names that stand out to me are:

ILJ.com
ILoveJesus.com
ChristianWife.com
ChristianDad.com

Names like ChristianBaby, ChristianBoy, and ChristianGirl are immoral an unethical in my opinion. Those should made into blank pages, as I find it hard to imagine how society lets parents get away with feeding helpless children nonsense garbage at such a young age. I certainly hope that you are responsible enough to keep your irrational beliefs to yourself if you have small children. To me, it is child abuse to clutter a child's mind with nonsense like this at such a young age, and I personally would not ever do business or trust anyone who would do this to their own children.

I would have to ask myself. If this person is willing to do this to their own flesh and blood, then what will they do to me if given the chance? I think a decent human being should be able to participate in honorable human action without looking for a reward in the after life. A good act should be enough, without worrying about potential heavenly rewards, or punishments in hell. That type of belief system degrades fair minded thought and action.
