I have a domain that was appraised @$1000.00 by afternic so i did a search on google for company's that could use the name and help with here natural ranking. I have had one response wanting to know a price. Here is my dilemma I think it could be worth more to this company than the appraised price but I don't want to blow a possible sale by starting to high. This would be my first sale. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The easy part is finding the end users. The hard part is negotiating. Most "newbies" (for lack of better term) will register justanyother.com and try to sell it to an end user for $6500...this is what will lose an end user. They know the domain name isn't worth this price. If you registered a domain name a week ago and are pitching it to them for X,XXX than you probably got your email deleted. Always be reasonable when you paid $8 for the domain name. Offer it to them at $200-$500 and you made yourself a nice profit.

I could not have done it with out the help of Rockefeller. It is nice to know there are people here that are willing to take time from there busy schedules to help others with less experience. It is a great feeling! As far as the contact method I just did a google search for the product the name was bought for and started clicking on the sites with the crappy names found the contact information and sent them an email with my name and number and offer.

I actually just received a PM that concretes why people don't make money in this industry...well, people that are just starting out anyway.

You register a domain name for $8 and wont sell it for $400 because estibot gave you a $27,000 appraisal? Automatic appraisals mean shit in this industry, I thought everyone knew that by now. If you contact a company and pitch them a domain name that they could've registered 2 weeks ago for $27,000 they will probably laugh at you...just as I would.
