how does domain selling work?

I've read that people have domains for sale etc, but how do you actually go about selling them? Do you just say it's for sale, or what other steps must one take to making sure it's done correctly when buying & selling to someone? Thanks in advance

My IMO When Posting 4 Sale

1. You should own the domain
2. You should be able to swiftly transfer ownership
3. You should have at least a PayPal account (to collect $$)
4. You should have e-mail

You gotta have good names, thats all.

I would forward the domain name for sale to your main site where you sell domains...a lot of buyers will type the name of a domain they want to see if it resolves...if it goes to a site where domain names are sold, the chance of selling the name increases.

Unfortunately PayPal's policy in Europe makes this difficult and expensive. There are alternatives to banks for cashing dollar cheques, and Nochex offers a UK alternative for email payment.
