A - And would like to keep it that way forever. I always felt cc is a burden to me and to its holder in particular.

I have a shoe box full of expired ones -- one of which is extremely rare -- do people collect expired cards? If so, where's the marketplace?

I have six of them, but usually I concentrate my spending on the three that each offer 1% cash back. :)

c. Two -

American Express -
have to pay off the balance at end of month so it keeps you in a reality check state of mind.

Chase Visa -
they hate me.
Fixed APR of 4.9%.
I am sure they wish I would default.

Do business and traveling in the States, you almost have to have a card to reserve rooms, etc.

Many merchants do not accept AmEx so it was a necessity to get the Visa.

And NO store or gas cards of any kind.

I also have a library card.

Actually, yes. Ebay may be the place. I know the very early credit cards, most were paper, in great condition are very rare and collectible.

I've seen copies of this card I have on eBay, but those were only issued as demos and they still fetch money. It is an Amex, but a black one and I have the cards in my name (one business and one personal) and the presentation box they came in etc. But I think they remain the property of Amex forever and can't be sold.

Will check over at eBay again. Thanks Doc.

Debt cards work great for that. ;)
For car rental and hotel bookings, there are a few debit cards that won't work in the UK.

Dale, I used to collect (empty) phonecards :D

But let's stick to the subject, post the category you're in.

Those of you that fall into d & e categories, please specify whether you run a business or not. My number of cards doubled once I formed my own company.

I'm curious... several of you have no credit cards?

That means you cannot book a hotel room an many of the chains, and you cannot rent a car, and in fact there are quite a few places you can't open a bank account or do business. Do you guys just stay at home a lot??

I think most people with no credit cards reside outside of the US. I had no credit cards until 1998 either.
