What do you mean by taste.. do you mean reg them for a few days and then get a refund on the domains you don't want to keep and if so what registar offers this service.

Thanks

I register about 20 per day. Some I am holding onto, and will not put for sale for years from now. Others go for sale to keep the spending money. Its easy to find decent names because people are mainly after traffic. If its a decent name, and it doesnt receive traffic, some let it go anyway. Thats where I step into play.

Why per day? Per hour!

...

More serious:
Registrations, probably just few ones monthly.
I mainly buy existing generic domains.
The reason is because Papa Noël does not exist!
Dot com still available for registration have very low metrics.
And if you read my trend sale thread, the sale demand is for domains having high metrics.

so you just keep the ones that don't receive traffic and lose that money? Or are you saying that all typos you register are good?:?:

I have domain purchasing periods. Some periods I don't care about domains, then the next day I'm all over them. Right now I'm downing a nice cup of tea while being on the prowl for cool domains. The search is a lot of fun!

There are known typos of certain words, letter combo's etc....if you look at related domains and their ovt with ext scores and with an "s" without an "s" etc it's pretty easy for me to find domains with traffic and not need to test them, there are a few basic rules I have come up with and learned that has me batting about 90% as far as domains that will pay for themselves of more per year...remember at $6.95 per domain per year, they only need to earn an average of around .02 per day overall to pay for themselves, after that it's all profit and can get as big as you want it to. Just about any basic "good" typo of most traffic sites can earn this easily with just 10-20 hits per month even and a few clicks...it is either HUGE earners or lots of domains making you $10 per month each...it all adds up to the same in the end and being spread out much thinner with minimal investment in inexpensive domain names gives you a huge advantage over buying domains at 4 years rev and then crossing your fingers that they don't get taken away by wipo/tm holders and hopefully will pay for themselves in the next few years...if you can hand register domains that only make a few bucks per month and have a successful formula then you basically hit the jackpot and it's all like a well oiled money making machine. ;)

As I say...register on auto-renew, park them, forget them and cross your fingers, and hopefully you did your homework and research with ovt and google and the news headlines before you register anything in the first place....some hand registrations make me $5-$10 a day each that I registered just two or three months ago..one is making a few HUNDRED dollars per month already and going up...just one domain. Costs me a whopping $6.95...others only make .10 - .25 per day or maybe .50 every week...but they will pay for themselves and much more at those rates..which is the whole objective to being profitable. Hope this helps everyone to look at this from a different angle...good luck!

ps - one more thing..I try to only *Focus* my efforts in the HIGHEST paying ppc sectors...stay away from the BS and fun stuff and focus more on insurance, credit, credit cards, realestate, legal, health, vacations, cruises, stuff like that...the typos of your favorite free game site are'nt going to get you more than a maybe .05/click...compared to maybe a $4 click on a loan or credit domain..and they are sitting there waiting to be registered too, don't believe this shit about all the good ones being gone, they are'nt!

Focus,

Thanks to spend time and explain your buying strategy.
Look likes you selected "quantity" better than "quality".

It can look likes logical that a domain earning enough to cover his annual registration cost worth to be purchased.
I just not understand how a domain just generating reg fee may pay your time to find/acquire/park it.
I always thought this approach is something that can only work when your time does not worth a lot.
It's a lot of pain for insignificant incomes. You really need to buy domains in mass to make money.

Average Domains Registered per day over the course of a week:
1 / 7 = 0.142857...

:)

I was tasting about 10 a week with Moniker, but I am pretty much worthless when it comes to finding traffic names, with the exception of a few .be typo that are making me 5 bucks a month each.

I enjoy scouring lists and lists of names, finding good ones for other people to register. If I find one that really sticks out, I'll grab it. Otherwise, I just like reading. I've seen too many people get addicted to registering names, so I do my part to make sure if they are going to spend their money, at least they spend it on good ones.

I am excited about Premium Drop's free domain tasting. I can't wait until Luc gets the new registrar set up to where we can taste 1000 domains a day.
