PS. Most of you are not answering my questions. I'm asking the good people here to share your experience. LOL.
Posted my experiences...not as a seller but as a non member on that forum finding my words posted as if they had come from someone else. Very bizarre.

Adiboy, we kind of are answering your question but I don't think you are liking the answer. Not trying to be mean, but the buyer had a right to be upset. Even if it's only 50 cents, it's the principle of it. As for your first two points, I can't say. But your third point, the answer is very clear. All selling costs are assumed by the seller unless stated otherwise. It's always that way. It's a cost of selling and it should be built into the price of the product. There's a reason why paypal charges those fees to the seller and not the buyer. Better to learn this on a $5 item though.

Okok agree

yeah, there's a lot of dirty stuff going on there. i'm glad i don't participate much.

There is? Which threads? That I do want to see? I have to admit I don't do any selling there to many wannabe 14 year old hackers living with mommy.

Yes the seller absorbs the paypal fees, I never stated otherwise, my point is that its a measly .52 cents for a domain purchase that is $2 BELOW reg fee!, knowing that the seller is already losing money, is it really worth haggling over?

You're right. For a domainer, that wants the name, it would be no big deal. I'd be pissed it wasn't mentioned but I wouldn't say anything just to get the name.

But these guys are developers and the name is secondary. And rightly the the fees do have to be mentioned before the sale is commenced.

Adiboy, we kind of are answering your question but I don't think you are liking the answer.

Yes, he/she has their answer whether they like it or not is well tough.

I'm asking the good people here to share your experience.

My experience. I really wanted one script for a website I was doing. I watched a guy get torn to shreds for not mentioning that the script didn't come with "master" resell rights. I mean we were talking $2 for this script I needed very badly, and these jokers wanted to resell the f-ing script rather than just have the copy to use. The mob mentality there is just amazing.

I won't go into great detail, I am not a member but...

On several occasions, someone has directed me there to particular posts and threads.

What I have found is my comments, assessments, and observations posted almost word for word with someone else posting them as if it was their perspective and observations.

Whether some feel my comments are worthwhile or marketing trends analysis is good, or even if they think I am full of shit (keep the cheers down), I find it quite disturbing when someone else is posting the same info as if they were the one behind the words.

Very, very, very odd that I am being quoted without being quoted.

I am not even sure what that forum is about. But there are obviously many members of this forum and NamePros that are member of all the forums.

One member in particular is very easy to identify...they use the same user name.

I find DP is not a serious place for domain sales. I had a user, who wasn't interested in the domain I was selling, flame me for not accepting a 120 offer from another user. And he completely bashed the domain I was selling right in my thread. I pm'd him and nicely explained it wasn't right to post this kind of message in a sales thread if he wasn't interested in making an offer for the name. Then the vulgarity began. I couldn't believe the attitude.

Too many teens live on the forum who think they are Neo from the Matrix, and it seems the admin is content to let things as they are.

So far I am dispapointed with DP in terms of a serious business venue.

IMO all the domain forums have their niche, the smart reseller will lever all the available tools to his best advantage, and you know that old saying, when in Rome..

Yeah, do as the Romans do. However, I won't stoop to that level. DP has it's uses. And I learned a lesson that hopefully I can put to good use in the future. I'm not ruling DP out but the role it has in my domain/sales strategy has changed and definately is not as respected as this or other forums.

Being a senior member on DP I can tell that newer and older members are treated different.. So if you have less posts and reputation you're likely to get less respect and trust. That also regards domains.
Don't ask why, just the way it works.
But also DP isn't a business forum in it's nature, it's more a SEO and webmaster discussions forum, so most people have no idea about the domains price and such. Thus if you're selling a domain, asking for offers you will always get ridiculously low ones.
Better give a range or high bin/bid to get decent offers

I've never been to that forum. Any good?
You might actually benefit from it. From what I have seen of your blogs and site you have, the reality is they (those members) might benefit from your insight and domain blog sites if you can gradually work them into the thread.
