Be honest and state either invest or waste and why do you believe there is good future for this extension?

Also, how many of you did provide FAKE address so you can register the names and what is the chance that you will lose the name when they found out you provide false information.

No personal attack - Just stating the pros & cons so other members don't make the mistakes.

Thanks all.

John

Hi Johnn

I so glad you started this thread, as I was thinking the same thing.

imo.... the .asia registry learned a lot from .mobi

they have reserved all the top tier keywords

and are letting domainers scramble to buy up the crap first

then, they hold an auction

this is not investing, it's more like gambling

imo...

Well the reason I am wondering was many send me pms and offer names for sale so they can use cash to buy asia names.

Buying a certain domain called "SIT***.com" , and i censored it, is worth gold, especially when i stuck it on their site and paid for a featured listing. best $10 i spent just to get sued :)

$300 (but didnt waste any).

I got quite a few good ones. Since i live and work in asia, it seemed reasonable to get some. and there are still some good ones IMO. Was able to pickup "hotelrate" with the extension. No one can predict the future...
If this extension doesnt work out then oh well. $300 isnt that bad for some good names. and if it does well, then better :)

The only thing spent and wasted is time reading the threads about it.

Spent 0. Of course, 12 years ago, no one believe me when I bought my names and was told they were a waste of money. They aren't laughing now.

So not too many believers?

Learned lesson from .cn .in and .mobi?

How can you put these 3 in one sentence?
.in seems to be going strong now and .cn just hit over 10M registrations I think.

Spent 30$. It's not a waste right now.

The names are popular place/culture names (bethel, bahasa). Let's see what will it be in the next five years. If it will be a crap, then i only wasted 30$, but if it will be glory years for .asia then my 30$ would probably become 3,000$ to 30,000$.
