That's your mistake, you are looking for 'logic', good luck with your hunt!

The logic is that type-in traffic (direct navigation) is perceived as more desirable. According to Google, type-in traffic has a higher conversion rate than (in many cases expiring) link traffic.

Opening up parking programs to domains which are actively promoted would create little value to advertisers. Predictably, too many would use email spam to generate clicks, or try to attract clicks through mostly misleading link spam.

If you want to promote your domain, develop it.

I agree with you typist..."If you want to promote your domain, develop it"....what i cant figure out is how is all this $$ being made with parked domains?.......is there that much type-in traffic going to parked domains without the assistance of links??

JupiterResearch estimates the size of the direct navigation advertising market was approximately $600 million in 2006, or about nine percent of the paid search market (source: paul sloan/business 2.0).

ok....i know all about those corporate facts....i'm talking about you, me and the majority of guys/gals here with average parked names.....not your generic names like camera.com...candy.com...etc......ok....how many of these average type names are really getting direct navigation type-in traffic....with no links??
