And I thought I was the only one with this problem. Now I can come clean and confess. Registering and finding domains is addicting. I develop my domains too, but sometimes I get caught up in the obsession of finding and registering, that I put the developing part on the back burner. I feel like I am losing out or will miss that gem of a domain if I don't register it or look at the domain auctions and expired lists.

After a few years, the ones that seemed great back then, often look rubbish now. I probably drop around 20 per month and register maybe 1 per month. The only cure is to 'registration mania disorder' is to wait until you get totally hacked off with the spiraling renewal fees.

Congratulations on admitting your addiction
I am a domain addict too
I do not know the correct term for the addiction
DN REG addiction?
Lately, I have been able to overcome the urges and have even gone through a whole day without reging
I have been an addict for 7 years
I believe there are about 10,000 dnreg addicts
Not many of them will admit it though
This is my own conclusion from looking at numbers of names reg'd and lists offered for sale
DNreg addiction is very similar to a gambling addiction
You tell yourself you want/need the money when all you want is the feeling that comes with winning
As with all addictions, the first step in controlling it, is to admit that you have a problem
The addiction caused me to quit my well paid job
I now only spend time with people whose company I enjoy.
Talking to other domainers helps slow the addiction
I mean talking on the phone/skype or in person, not typing chat. Typing chat only encourages the addiction.
I excersice a lot because I have found I cannot reg names while exercising
I travel a lot. And I spend a heap of money.
Oh yeah, the addiction finances all that.
