Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing a huge drop in Traffic and Revenue in the past few days?

I am experiencing a 50% drop in both. I am basing this on the past 2 months of stats which have been pretty constant.

Yes, for today I'm seeing 1/4 the normal estimated revenue... :worried:

The traffic for my portfolio for the past 4 days seems to be normal but the CTR% is down pretty good so my overall revenue is down about 30-35% during this time. Mainly I've noticed my adult domains not converting as well as in the past, perhaps I gave them to much to look at with the customized pictures I added to the domains here recently.

I'm sure the CTR% will pick back up though.

Glad there is a thread about this. I just joined dnforum to specifically know more about this issue.

Stats definitely have a different *feel*. I was hoping to see better numbers as I added domains and filtered traffic but I see some domains being off by quite a bit.

Does anyone know what the upgrade entailed? Was it just more/better hardware or was there an actual change on how traffic/clicks are being counted (new software)?

My domains don't get enough traffic to judge, but I would like to see the traffic analysis functional again... it would help.

I've noticed that some of my domains no longer seem to be listed on Google or when they are listed instead of the usual title and meta tag description it just shows something along the lines of this

domainexample.com/spidertrap.php

I've noticed a few of mine have done that as well - doesn't do much good for search generated traffic to your parked domains.

Being able to add custom text may help change that problem though.

IT may not be an isolated Parked thing. This past weekend I saw the lowest traffic numbers and revenue in perhaps 2 years with my Sedo account. Sunday was single digit revenue.

Anyone have any clue? Isn't parked Yahoo? Sedo google?

CTR UP and Dow looks like normal, But I have some Domain traffic Subduedly drop in next day from 70-60 ip to 20-single digit and stay in that traffic.
I have ask my account manager but he answer me the domain has to many 404 link and he can`t do anything to me.
I didn`t get it,that doamin has already park in system about 6weeks.
Why will happen this condition after this time?

I too, have sensed something not-quite-right going on the past while.

Some of my names had been pretty consistent performers in the past, and a number of them had even garnered 1st page rankings in google.

I just checked up on some of them and it appears they've fallen and the listings replaced with the same blank spidertrap link you have found.

So far, I have even discovered one of my names listed as:

domainexample.com/click.php?clickfraud=1 !?

I am also seeing the spidertrap.php url on some of my domains, with no cache. So they may be soon dropped. This is bad.

NOT because of loss of search engine traffic but because of loss of type-in traffic. One theory is that users are more likely to type in a domain name in a search box than in a browser filed. Now, THOSE type-ins are gone or will be gone soon. They may or may not be replaced by what most people think about type-ins... that is, typing in the browser straight. I typically see in my logs -for many of my developed sites- the name of the site as a keyword searched in the engines... type-in or not type-in?

Google recently made a change to their spider, and they are now indexing pages that we tell them not to index. Spidertrap.php was designed to stop bots that did not follow our robots.txt file, but now it seems google doesn't either.

I have sent one of my friends who works their a few emails and he's passing them around. We went ahead and removed the html code from the site that mentioned that and basically created a blank page at this point.

On our end we are seeing the same volume of traffic from google as we saw before they changed their spider.

Thank you, Donny.

Looking at the robots.txt files being used... do you know if you have to specifically mention Googlebot in them?

User-agent: Googlebot

as opposed to just

User-agent: *

so, a robots.tx file may look like this to work properly...

User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow: /click.php
Disallow: /spidertrap.php
Disallow: /ud.php

User-agent: * Crawl-delay:20
Disallow: /click.php
Disallow: /spidertrap.php
Disallow: /ud.php

Just an inquiry...

----
Also, would it be possible to learn more about the recent upgrade? Were there changes done in the way clicks are being counted or similar? Thank you, again.

I've lost search engine traffic, as not all of my names are particularly good type-ins.

If you take a look at the below search, there's a hell of a lot of parked.com sites coming up as spidertrap.php

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=spidertrap.php

The only domain of mine not affected was one with a 1-Click Lander... Sounds a bit strange why it would be unaffected.. unless Google wanted it that way :worried:

I just hope Google come clean and fix this mistake - it seems to me that they will be suffering from lower click throughs on their advertising programs otherwise. Without us, they don't get paid either!

I agree. Before the latest update, my daily revenue was slowly rising. Each day, slightly more. I have a system that I follow to make sure that my revenue only goes up. Anyway, after the latest update, my revenue has dropped, and isn't going up anymore. Basically just fluctuating back and forth.

My daily profit went from $120 on the 1st of August, rising to $310 early this month, then started dropping after the latest update. Now I am lucky if i bring in $150/day.
