Hello, everyone I have a simple invention that I would like to pursue. I don't know what to do. Who do I approach to get it patten who do I approach to get it made and who do I approach to get and investment and who do I approach to get it in the stores? I have an idea how to sell the product out side the stores like through the Internet. But if someone can help me I would be very grateful for the fact that this idea will work and I know because I spoke to a lot of my close family and friends and there reaction was omg I can't believe no one thought of that.

First, no investor is going to touch you without you proving some type of risk yourself. Start with your own prototype (even if it's made out of spoons and toothpicks). See here for patent info: http://www.uspto.gov/ . Once you have a plan on paper and prototype, then you can seek out investors.

Temporary patents are quite cheap. Once you've got a solid idea setup, with all that's necessary to make it salesworthy you apply for that sort of a patent. Once you have that you go forward looking for investors.

why not just sell useless ebooks like everyone else?

Wow, Yea I forgot all about that thread. It was a smart idea but already taken. I really didn't do any research I was pretty much just thinking about the future. Im not going to make millions or billions on this idea. Ill make a good buck. But thanks for the help guys. Do you guy think a drawing would work to show a protype? it could show from point and to point c to how it works.

Why don't you consult a patent attorney? Pay him for 1 hour of his time and ask him all the questions you want.

Vutos: Go for it. If you have a vision to a product/inventory. I encourage you to simply, just go for it. Don't let anybody stop you. By the time they realize the potential, you have already secured a gold mine. Just go and seize the opportunity.

I did a further research about "temporary patent", and I want to share it with you. Read the question and answer that beings right after this: May (Oct 19, 2004 2:32:08 PM)
in here http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/com/iip/online2004oct19.htm

Then come here: http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/ac/qs/ope/fee2009september15.htm

All the best Vutos.

Create a plan on paper.
Create a model on the computer on how you think it should look/what it will do
Create a life model out of any type of materials that you can. Start out small with a prototype that doesn't work and try to work towards a working model.

Seek out investors that have somewhat of a history in the invention that you are wanting to create.

How many times are you going to pose the same question on a domain forum?
