Last 24hrs (New registrations - Deletions)

22778 .com
6780 .info
4515 .net
1646 .org
893 .biz

Dot Info is bullshit. Do you see verisign giving away domain names. Most dot infos over the last month or too haven't even been registered by the registrants. When people who have domains registered on their behalf for nothing are asked to renew next year the fallout could easily wipe out the dot info registery. As it is the registry has nearly doubled its overheads for no increase in financial turnover.

.info is temporarily higher than .net because of all the free registration offers through MyDomain and other places where you can get 25 FREE .infos for a limited time.

That's true, I would like to see the trend of the .info in a year, when all the registrations from the offer expire.

Domain names are going to get very cheap .info's are likely to be only $1 for the frist year of registration throughout 2005.

So you'd rather pay $10 a-very-very-long-bull-name.com than $1 shorter-name.info?

I believe Afilias has applied to sell .info's to registrars @ $.75 for the whole of 2005. + .25$ for ICANN = $1, it also looks likely that it will be upto individual registrars to set their prices like in the current prommotion.

Not at all, the majority of our domains are single character IDNs in the major asian languages. Much of the surge in English Language Dot coms will end in tears, although I did sell a 15 letter dot net for 950 € recently.

Most of these dot infos will drop next year even before the main domain drop specialists don't even bother to track them.
