I just finished my HP (that's Hewlett-Packard for all you who want to joke "Harry Potter? HAHHAAHAHAHA") certification test and I passed!!

This has been required for work and my boss has been nagging us since no one on the team has taken it yet and passed (one person attempted but ran out of time).

I procrastinated as much as I could and I decided to just go for it and take the test. I'm glad I did, it's such a relief.

Not only am I the first one on my team to do this but so far fewer than 15 techs in the company have passed the test.

Congrats. Does this mean you get a pay raise?

I wish. I've survived a 65%-70% reduction in force (I'm doing a job that 4.x people used to do) and no pay raise but I'm sure it will look good on my resume! :D

I would have thought about HP steak sauce as the other meaning of "HP" before Harry Potter, FYI :)

Congrats! I've been putting off the basic certifications (A+, CCNA, etc.) for some time now. What skill set does the HP Certification give you?

How to work on HP equipment. The one we do (required for my postition) is for desktops, laptops, and workstations. It's mainly about their poliies, tools, etc. (90% most techs will never deal with).
