how does Rick do it?!?!?!
I agree! Clearly a Multi-Million dollar domain based just on the keyword!I doubt that Alexa rank, Google results or parked page text will have any impact on this deal.
Where is the TRAFFICS?
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/candy.com
Ranked 483,195. Not sure that sounds like a million dollars to me.
There are names that need traffic crutches to hold them up, and there are names that can stand on their own, independent of traffic, ranking, revenue, etc. Candy(.)com for sure is one of the latter, and worth as much as Hershey or Mars is willing to pay for it. I would not be the least surprised if this sold for multimillions.
Its silly to start such rumors.
A company will pay 5-10mill for this domain. Its not a question of how or why, its only when.
"The other problem is that if you are trying to value it as a brandable, as a Generic it might actually be a handicap. You would never be able to go after TM infringers with a generic which is why most large companies have not warmed to them yet."
I don't see it that way. Branding your company on well known generics just widens the base of potential customers. J & J is doing it with www.baby.com. By doing this it is similar to billboards or advertising without PPC.
This has to be the most hyped domain on the planet.
Yes, it is a good domain, but the premise that it is worth a huge amount amount of money even without traffic defeats just about every argument Rick has ever made.

My valuation would be 7 figures but not by a lot.
