Sad thing is that they still have more name recognition AND returning customers than most other registrars. I'm amazed by the large number of webmasters on WHT who still think netsol is the only "reliable" registrar on the web.

Let me add that someone who knew me might comment that "Mark joined Network Solutions in 1998 in the hope of helping them turn a customer-service challenged monopoly into a great competitive company, but left in 2001 fed up with the idiots they kept hiring to work instead for an ethical company".

If I was then asked if I agreed with those comments I might have to say that "they are welcome to think that but I couldn't possibly comment on the accuracy of those statements"

:D

Like they aren't making enough !!! considering they get $6 from every other registrar on the planet every time they register a domain

LOL Mark. Your turn of phrase reminds me of that English TV programme where the politician working towards becoming the Prime Minister would answer the reporter's question with: "Well you might say that Maddy, but I could never say that." Something cunning like that anyway, LOL. You heading for a career in the Parliament by any chance Mark? :D

Fizz:

Thats where I got my quote from :)

I was involved in politics at a national level at University in the UK and the Tories were trying to persuade me to come over to them telling me I would get a safe seat in 10-12 years, no thanks :)

Yes. They are.
(disclaimer: just an opinion based on my experience)

...But you have to consider doubleclick gets a cut for you clicking the banner.

It only takes one ill-informed person to pay $129 to make up for 10 that overpaid at $12.99. Worst thing is they'll probably get a few years renewal out of it and if they ever do catch on, will probably pay again with NSI stalling on transfer approvals.
