I also have a sub 6.95 account someone sold me. What is the difference between this sub reller account and a reseller account with Enom? Are the one in the same??

Hi guys,

I think I can answer some of the questions raised above however there were quite a few of them and i can't remember them all now so PM and i'll answer them.

Firstly NamePopper that was a very bold move by you :) but an easier and safer alternative would have been to go to your reseller test account fill it up with some fake dough and do your testing that way. see http://resellertest.enom.com

There is no substantial difference between a sub-account $6.95 holder and a enom registered $6.95 reseller. The difference is that eNom regularly contacts their registered resellers and updates them with any new info. They do not contact the sub-account holders. Also with regards to ethics, I don't think there is anything wrong with selling sub-accounts, in fact I'm sure eNom would encourage it as they make their commision on every registered domain through them. At the top stands ICANN below them are the domain registrars see http://www.icann.org/registrars/accredited-list.html eNom sits at this line of the hierarchy, them comes the resellers, we sit at this level, then the resellers of the resellers, that will be some of you. None the less eNom and ICANN are guaranteed to make a buck on every domain registration.

All of this has been very informative.

However, I still don't understand how selling $6.95 enom accounts for $100.00 makes the account sellers anything beyond the $100.00?

What am I missing?

I think a $6.95 account is just a $6.95 account - use it or lose it. Better to sell it for $100 than sit on it until eNom decides someday to take back unused accounts.

If you sell a registry rocket account with '100' domains in it, can the new owner hurt those dn owners in any way?

This is a very informative thread. :) Thanks for the info NamePopper.

I have a question: Let's say you buy a 6.95 account from someone. Can the person above you change your wholesale pricing at any time?

Thanks. :)

I have an idea that there may be a general feeling of "to good to be true", but it is true and very good.

I bought a reseller account from doberry and am now registering domains for $6.95 including all the Enom extras.

How can you go wrong?

if there is anyone from eNom that peruses this board, they may want to learn from this thread and post a reseller faq page that would explain all of this

Doberry did me nicely as well. I have already registered 13 new domains already and plan to transfer all my existing domains to ENOM even though technically they are already there through a reseller. Even an 8.95 reseller account is a steal if you don't want to pay the extra $100. Someone has already gotten one from me and they like it great. Only problem for some people is that you have to fund your account $100+ at a time. The paypal feature may work out to be a nice addition but since paypal has a VISA card it works the same if you have that.

Thats all well in good, but it doesn't answer my question. I don't care about doberry. Infact, this thread wasn't even started with relation to doberry (no offense, of course), it was started with questions about enom. I am just wondering if it can be done by someone.

Can the person above you change your price from 6.95 to 8.95 at any time? Or are they locked in in some way?

Thanks. :)

They (main resellers) can raise your price (sub-resellers) - at any time.

Do not forget however that they have a reputation to mind - and the sub-account owners can contact enom directly.

Yeh reputation is everything on these boards and he is well known on this board and I know he would not change my prices after we entered into a contract with me for a setup price. I assume you might be able to change it at anytime b/c I can change it for my sub-resellers to the best of my knowledge. I'd be more worried about someone who set you up an account for free that you have not talked to much in length or who was trying to make a fast buck. There should definitely be an FAQ but I guess this thread will do fine for future references for those who do come looking for the answers.

And as people have suggested if you have questions try things in the test environment b/c they will most definitely always reflect what will happen in the live environment.

Thanks DotComster.

clemzonguy - Again, I believe the "he" you are talking about is doberry, who I don't care about right now (and no one asked about). Thanks though for the rest. :)

Froggy,

If you're that concerned about it, EMail and/or CALL ENom to get their take on the cost per domain name increase issue. Are resellers protected?

I think you have a valid issue and one that never crossed my brain... err mind.
