Is this normal?

I registered a domain at namecheap,I check the whois and nothing shows up,then I tried to re-register it on GD and it shows up at taken but nothing for whois,is this normal?Does it take time for whois to change?

yes, this is normal.You should check again at namecheap's whois in a few minutes.
