I disagree about of being a very cool domain. Letter J acronyms usually suck. Seemed high price to me even at just 16k.

Maybe an extremely rare end user whos initials are JJJ purchased it but not too likely. Are you positive the sale is legit?

i think it was probably the triple repeated letter .com, there are only 25 other domains of that form, which definitely makes it a collector's piece in my mind. perhaps not to justify nearly 50k but certainly more than 16.
maybe Johnson and Johnson and Johnson bought it

LLL.coms that generate traffic and revenue are muy caliente, ahora.:target:

Of my last 5 LLL.com transactions, I am paying a little more than I would like, but I am also selling for more than I expect.

No question it is unique and brandable but it's odd how prior owner who is a very experienced admin at different forum had a tough time selling if for under 20k after doing extensive marketing at various venues for a long time?

Really rare domain.

Good or bad, they are ALL 'really rare domains'.

Good domain and sale!

Actually it is well documented he turned down an offer/s of 30K + only to take his chance at auction, which was a "fail".

The letter is insignificant. It's rare because all 3 letters are the same and it's highly brandable. When all letters are not the same, that's when acronym conbinations become more important because they become less brandable and only serve a purpose if a company can use those letters.

We have a radio station here in Australia called Triple J. I highly doubt that they purchased it though.
