Why did he use mydomain.com DNS?

Enforces the idea why he used porn instead of PPC, imo

the article below pretty much sums everything up.. also provides an alphabetical list/index of all his typos which he registered back in the day

http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/people/edelman/typo-domains/

The trouble with "Zuke" (as he's affectionately known in the industry) mostly relates to his persona and the implementation of his names. Many of the names he formerly owned expired for non-payment and were subsequently picked up by other large speculators in this buisiness. Many of Zuke's names were excellent generic TM free mis-spellings, but the nature of his trademarked domain set "poisioned" the rest of his business and his name quickly became MUDD .. On 'one day' alone last fall his former generic expiring names (listed alongside his trademarks in that list) sold for more than 100,000 at the various domain auction houses (thats wholesale prices)... Those were the purely generics folks.

The real lesson here is quite simple. "Don't Cybersquat names." If you have anything good in your portfolio your actions in regard to bad names will poison your good names and your reputation as far as public interpretation is concerned will disolve to less than nothing. In the end this business is self policing. Get a bad reputation and you will have a much harder time making money.

Zuke exploited holes in legislation and programming flaws in the web browsers. He was a true Internet entrepreneur. Unfortunately for him, he didn't have good enough lawyers. OJ Simpson killed his wife and her boyfriend and made it out scott free.

Is DNforum going downhill?
I start seeing too many posts where slimeballs are given credit for their tactics. Domainers using spyware or trojans and making money are congratulated. Jerks that are locked up for putting porn on kiddie names are referred to as Internet entrepreneurs? Some say that a part of the industry refers to these lowlifes in an "affectionate" manner? Members skirt normal transaction proceedures to jump ahead of other members in the chase of a few names. Members actually aid a domain thief in profiting from his actions by buying stolen property. On and on.

Just making the whole experience kinda suck. To bad they can hide in the digital world, otherwise I'd be kicking some butt.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I stated mine.

a) kids don't belong on the Internet. Parents need to get off their asses and control what their kids are doing. Period.

b) Microsoft, with its 99% share in web browser market should be heavily penalized for each and every hole, browser deficiency or OS backdoor that allows for modified web surfing. Accusing those that took advantage of the OS manufacturer's lapses in security ain't gonna cut it.

True, no problem with that.

a) kids don't belong on the Internet. Parents need to get off their asses and control what their kids are doing. Period.
Excuse me? Kids are entitled to learn and use this wonderful resource as much as you are my friend. Parents need to be on-guard as much as possible, but it would be much better to restrict the slimeballs from doing what that jerk did baiting the kids in with Disney type stuff etc. I'd also more like to restrict the porn to an .xxx than restrict the kids. Course that isn't going to happen in a global resource open to international slimeballs.

b) Microsoft, with its 99% share in web browser market should be heavily penalized for each and every hole, browser deficiency or OS backdoor that allows for modified web surfing. Accusing those that took advantage of the OS manufacturer's lapses in security ain't gonna cut it.

I agree on the fault and responsibility that Microsoft should face. I disagree with the idea that those that take advantage of these lapses are NOT to blame. Again, what logic is that? So the bank leaves the vault open and with that lapse of security, nobody should blame the crook that takes the bag of cash? Or in something more related, a domainer doesn't lock his domain so the thief (entrepreneur?) shouldn't be accused? Same line of thinking.

The Internet was formed by former military and research scientists. The fact that it's considered a wide forum nowadays is thanks to extensive consumer marketing. Want a "wonderful learning tool" for kids? Get them Encyclopaedia Britannica - the printed version.

On the subject of effective parenting, I support the various blocking software like NetNanny etc that effectively blocks questionable content.

Lastly, I own Pentalpha.org - does that make me a satanist?
