Just about mirrors the LLLL.com market.

The A's at one point were all regged. The E's were then the second in short supply. Don't recall the status of the D's.

Hyphenated domains in general are getting very good traffic and CTR at Bodis, much better than Sedo by a long shot. All extensions included.

I agree, IMO all hyphenated domains are going to rise in value, especially the ones with two longer words, such as losangeles-attorney.com or vermont-properties.com they are just easier to read on a business card or on TV

I think this list is a great indicator in general when it comes to the "premium letter" discussion. Its not as easy as saying one letter is premium and the other is not, its a sliding scale really..

Agree, because it shows what letters people are willing to put money into, and which they aren't (so far). A discussion is one thing, but actually putting the money down to buy is another.

Partially true.
Don't forget, this is only true for domainers. Who love to talk subjects to death lol.

The most popular letter on the internet, as in, the most domains starting with any letter is 's'
By a country mile.
Yet theres still plenty left.

Also with these type of names is, research we've done shows 25- 50 % , depending on letters strings of these L-L-L.com domains are developed, which shows great enduser/business demand.

Now bear in mind domainers own a fair slice and buydomains, too so thats pretty good stats so far, for developed 'real' sites.

BUT the single most important factor, is if you're a company or individual and want/need a certain acronym, for example Q-T-H ,
then to you, these are about as premium as it gets. If someone offered you S-E-O, you wouldn't be interested. You want Q-T-H.

Get my drift?

Sure, a domainer would cream for S-E-O & there would be plenty of endusers too but thats another point.

that most domains start with an "s" probably has to do with Sex.. it would be also cool to know what the combined leftovers of the L-L-L.com for each letter are, meaning not only the starting letter, but every letter in the L-L-L combo. If someone would do this maybe even for the LLLL.coms I think one could actually create a very accurate scale for the pure letter value. But I also agree, its always the combo of letters. For example EKZ.com looks like a bad combo, but it also happens to mean "shopping mall" in German..,

anyway..I think if someone had a list of developed LLLL.coms it might be possible to create a probability matrix in which a random letter combo (that doesnt mean anything obvious like h-o-t or s-e-x) can be assigned to EVERY LLL.com or LLLL.com combo for an end user coming along. I think this value might be more valuable than the number of google results.
If I had that data I would create that matrix, so if someone has that data..feel free to let me know. A random sample of lets say 5000 LLLL.coms would be good enough, split up into developed, registered no content, parked, available...so if someone needs a project..now you have one...

Ok, i'll leave that to the LLLL brigade
After all, theres 450, 000 LLLL & only approx 17.5k L-L-L......
that's why getting a list of all developed L-L-L.com is realistic.
I appreciate what you're saying about a cross section for LLLL though.
I have some LLLL too though, am a fan, but am more selective.

BTW all 'e' are now gone ;) too

nb: oh yeah, i owe you a beer John, it's on it's way

Indeed. Hard to even snag on Snap anymore. P-R-R.com for $90 is not a bad pickup on the secondary market.

I've been thinking a bit along those lines but not expecting to find time for it before next year ... Don't have the bandwidth to scan half a million URLs so would have to set it up as a distributed effort, and that makes it a bit more complicated as well. (I guess I could just kick off a script and check results in a few months ...)

In maybe a similar vein here is an interesting attempt to correlate reported sale prices of LLLL.com with factors such as CVCV pattern etc: http://domebase.com/fourmodel.txt (also should note some critique of the methodology in discussion another board - ie, sample biased towards higher prices since less public data on lower-value sales)
