I did wait as long as about 1 minute or so and tried many times.

No thanks to a new browser as want to stick with industry standard software IE6 and hardware and don't want to use rarely used programs like alternate 3rd party browsers. Software should be designed to work on the #1 programs not best on 2nd tier ones as far as popularity goes

whew
I understand.
Please do not take the following and feel as if I have a sense of anger or frustration, it's my intent to try to help understand the problem.
Mpeg is a format that plays with various software. I guess thats what you meant by the 'software should be designed to work' reference. Unless your talking about plugins. Mozilla uses quicktime built right in, and its even as smart to start the playback as soon as it has enough of the file to start playing it back and not choke on itself, taking into consideration the connection time. It looks ahead and starts playing back at the right time. But beside all that, your using an I. Exploder and Windows Media Player, correct? Not the industry standard, thats the Microsoft standard, and what the computer store arranged for you to purchase. Most webmasters I know consider the standard to be higher than IE, I.E. Mozilla, Opera, and up from there. And, we use both for the sake of those that don't know better, to see what they see. But anyway..
I assure you, the file resides where I linked it from. And, the server is quite fast, to boot. 'Consider the source' is a typical reaction, but it's not on my end. Those mpgs have been hit a lot lately and yours is the only negative feedback I've gotten. I'm sorry.
Anyway, try right clicking and select 'save target as' and save to a temp folder for viewing, then delete them when you've gotten your fill.
And, a P.S.: if you were to try Mozilla, you most likely wouldn't not go back to IE.
That means you might like it. Try it.
Anyway, good luck getting the files. They're there. I promise.
How often do you get to see Ben Stein telling Hillary Clinton jokes?
Try and try again, my friend. At this point, it may not be worth it for either of us to continue dialogue about this. Sorry it didn't work out.

It was *not* intended to be negative feedback and I am sorry if you took it wrongly. Merely wanted to let you know the mpeg's did not work on my particular setup and system, which is the #1 popularity configuration i.e. XP, IE6, Windows Media Player, High-Speed Connection, lots of memory, ram and HD space.

Thanks for posting all of that anyway, much appreciated.

The DVDs should be available some time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are waiting to hear from the videographers on the editing and production.

Really?

As 'real' as Rick's 'sale' of Banker.com?

OOPS!

Has Rick's "grudge list" for 2005 been posted yet, or is he still working on it?

I listened to Howard Neu tonight on DOMAIN MASTERS, the webmaster radio broadcast.

He said tonight that T.R.A.F.F.I.C. 2005 will be of a similar format as the last one, "by invitation only."

So, unfortunately.. it sounds like Schwartz's master GRUDGE LIST is still in place.

We expanded T.R.A.F.F.I.C. 2005 to an extra day, so we have an additional 3 Sponsor slots that can be filled. However, we are proud to announce that 2 of those spots have already been taken by GOOGLE and AFTERNIC.

Registrars, PPCs, Direct and Product Navigation companies, Secondary Search companies, Domain Venture Capitalists, Drop Services and other potential sponsors that do not participate in the 2005 Conference will have virtually NO CHANCE at sponsoring future events as there will be no additional slots.

Attendance is "by invitation Only" so that only Domainers with a good reputation in the industry will be coming. That way the Sponsors know that they are dealing with reputable people.

Howard -

I notice you have a trader rating of ZERO, one of the lowest ratings on this, the largest domainer forum in the world. Does that mean you are not invited?

What's Rick's ID here? I want to look up his trader rating. I need to measure his reputation too, before I would consider such a thing.

Thanks...

I certainly thought I wanted to go this year. Now I don't have an opinion on it. It's interesting what experience does to objectivity.

Howard is an attorney not a domain trader. He is one of the people responsible for organizing TRAFFIC.

Additionally it is possible to be a member on dnforum, have a good reputation and be very active in domains but not do a lot of trading with other members such that you wind up with a low or zero trader rating here.

When the details on TRAFFIC 05 come out ask nicely for an invite.

BTW - bashing Howard and/or Rick is a surefire way to NOT get an invite.

Howard,

It would be great to let bygones be bygones, but you and Rick just don't seem to ever give up. The TRAFFIC trade show GRUDGE LIST is "Exhibit A."

Doesn't Rick Schwartz himself have a couple of UDRP losses under his belt? So, I don't think his reputation is perfect.

How about cybersquatting? Is cybersquatting discussed on Rick's private board? How about domain thefts? Have any board members/ TRAFFIC invitees been involved with things like that?

How about YOUR reputation, Howard? How about bad-mouthing former clients in public and private? Does that qualify you as a paragon of virtue?

Howard, it is outright false that the credentials are "only domainers with good reputations will be coming." The true credentials are: people you like.

Are there other members of Rick's board --and approved TRAFFIC invitees-- who have been involved in some less than honorable activities, including blatant cybersquatting? Remember Marcia Walker and Prada.org? Why don't you try to "protect" the show sponsors from people like that?

What a joke!

Howard, your credibility is suffering.

Geez...how could anyone not want you in attendance at any event when you make your case in such a nice way. Makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy all over to see such kind words.

Hal..its too bad it never crossed your mind to privately email Howard or Rick and work through you issues with them rather verbal puking your guts out in public....ya think that might have some bearing on this situation?

Also..maybe I missed a post...but I don't remember reading anything that specificatlly mentioned you not being able to attend. It seems that you let your emotions get the best of you by venting before you even knew what the story was. Pretty nice of you to also drag people into your beef that have also not said a word about you...I would say its time to drag out that old book. " How to make friends and Influence Others" and do more than read the foreword.

Really hal for someone complaining about letting bye gones be byegones ... you sure don't follow your words.

Zoot,

It ain't my trade show; it ain't my GRUDGE LIST.

It ain't my BS telling people there is an ethical screening process to protect the sponsors --when it is really just a GRUDGE LIST.

TRAFFIC 2004 attendees included many folks who weren't members of Rick's board. Where's the evidence to suggest the '05 iteration will somehow be different/more exclusionary? On the contrary, it's likely to be an even bigger and more widely attended event because of the positive word of mouth from the first time around.
