My friend posted this on anouther forum, i just need some imput because no one really knew...but anyway...just wondering what a few more people say!

Yes, Windows Server 2003 Enterprise normally sells for about $4,000, but most of that price is for the fancy box and manuals. Of course, Microsoft authorizes sale of that product for $60 for people who do not want the box or the manual.

Also, because they are located in Russia, they are able to get very good wholesale deals, as they are located so close to the companies like Microsoft that make the software.

There is absolutely no way that they are legit.

I AGREE WITH JOHN... THIS IS A SCAM.

I can believe OEM versions of XP Professional for $60 per license, but not to the general public. Discounts of that size are reserved for the Dells and HPs of the world.

As far as the $60 price of Windows Server 2003 Enterprise goes. Well, it's just too bad to be good.

That's not what OEM means .. OEM means "Original equipment manufacturerer" .. meaning, it's not an after-market product.

I guess it depends on the law where the seller lives.
For instance, to sell MS OEM software is perfectly legal in germany.You won't get free customer support or no support at all from MS but that's why OEM is much cheaper here than the normal versions.

So this offer could indeed be legit depending on the laws in Russia.

People were doing (and may still be doing, they were still open a few weeks ago even though I reported it several months ago) the same with Adobe software. $25 for $750 packages, supposedly OEM without books or support. Someone I was talking to on the thread stupidly did it and actually got a product, but it was very clearly just an obviously low-skill pirated CD.
