Old header looks better, the new one is too dark-ish.
The old one was way lighter, friendlier etc.

Plus, the logo kind of sucks. [/EDITED by Moderator]

And yeah, bring back the old smilies please.

I too thought it was a pixel off at first. But if you take a screenshot, and zoom in, you will see that it isnt.

It is. You're not supposed to factor in letters like g, y, and p when centering text vertically. It would look much better with the text one pixel lower.

Well, most designers WOULD actually factor in the descender below the baseline as well, just that NOT exactly in the same proportion as they do with the ascender above the x-height, if you know what I mean. ;)
